Dulce is a place name: a town in a desert in New Mexico, in the United States. Its population is a little over 3,000, about 90 percent Native American, and it has a hospital, a police station, and schools. Livestock is the main local industry; other industries are scarce. It is a remote, desolate little town.

Since the 1950s this place has been regarded as an alien base set up by the U.S. government. Beneath Dulce lies an enormous secret facility inhabited by large numbers of extraterrestrial beings. They reached a secret agreement with the U.S. government: they would provide Americans with high technology, and in exchange the government would conceal their existence and allow them to abduct humans on a regular schedule for experiments.

Phil was an engineer, a pipeline architect, and a geologist. In 1979 the U.S. government sent him to the underground base at Dulce, New Mexico, on a drilling assignment. When the crew reached a certain depth they could not drill any farther—even the drilling equipment began to fail. So Phil and the other workers decided to go down and see what was going on.

They chose to descend through a shaft. When they reached the bottom they found a large cavern. Phil and the workers went in to see what was strange about it, and there they discovered a group of Greys about seven feet tall. Phil’s party was terrified, so they drew pistols and started shooting. Once the aliens recovered, they fired back.

A fierce fight followed. In the chaos one alien produced a box; when it opened, cobalt rays shot out. Phil’s left hand was hit by the rays—his fingers turned to ash the instant they were struck. In the end the disparity in force was too great, and Phil’s group had to flee. In that battle, sixty-six people were killed by the aliens.

After Phil was helped back to the surface, his superiors ordered him to keep the matter strictly secret. He did not understand, but he agreed. The encounter left him deeply interested in aliens, and he began to study them. Before long he found the Canadian engineer who had gone into the cavern with them and learned that most of those who had gone down had been killed by the aliens—though four aliens had also died. For an incident of that magnitude, the United States chose to suppress the news. Phil sensed something was wrong and began quietly gathering material to investigate.

Through that investigation Phil uncovered a U.S. military “secret”: when the Roswell craft crashed in 1947, the military found alien bodies inside and took them back for dissection. Afterward it began building underground military bases on a large scale. In more than half of those secret bases the military had unspeakable dealings with aliens—exchanges of black technology. Dulce Base was only one of the sites where the military dealt with aliens; the news blackout was meant to keep the “secret” from becoming known.

In his lectures Phil also showed the audience his mutilated left hand. A friend of his who had investigated the matter died under mysterious circumstances. Phil felt he too might be silenced, because he had exposed the military’s secret. For a time the story became a hot topic of public discussion.

Not long afterward Phil was found dead in his apartment in gruesome condition. Reportedly three loops of rubber tubing were wrapped around his neck and his body bore many bruises; people guessed he had been murdered. After investigating, the police called it suicide and closed the case hastily. On top of that the military claimed it had never hired Phil for any work and said he suffered from severe delusions. Faced with those statements, people became even more convinced that Phil’s lectures had been true.

The clash Phil had with the aliens is the famous “Dulce War.”

This interview transcript is taken from the secret-interview chapter of UFO Highway by Anthony F. Sanchez. The interviewee, under the alias “Colonel X,” claimed to have worked at the Dulce Facility from 1979 to 1983. He disclosed a great deal of classified material about the facility—most of which differs sharply from what currently circulates online.

The interview covers the basic situation of the Dulce Facility, the history of the “inhabitants” there, the origins of humankind, and related subjects. For UFO enthusiasts it offers some insight into the present state of extraterrestrial civilizations. Because there is no reliable evidence, skeptics may also treat it as science fiction; I make no guarantee whatsoever as to the authenticity of its contents.

Because the original conversation record is rather chaotic—with much repetition, jumping around, and discontinuous questions and answers—I rearranged or cut some passages while preparing this version, to keep the reading smooth. In places I also add brief notes so readers unfamiliar with the background can follow the dialogue more easily. If you have no idea what the Dulce War or Dulce Base stories are about, you may also refer to the following:

Background: This interview was conducted on January 6, 2010, at a private residence in Placer County, California. The questioner was U.S. UFO researcher Anthony F. Sanchez, a Ph.D. in computer information systems who spent sixteen years as a software engineer at companies including 3Com, Intel, Acer, and Netscape. From 2000 on he began studying mysteries of human origins—ancient Hebrew religious texts, the Dead Sea Scrolls, Sumerian-Babylonian inscriptions, and the like—and concluded that aliens were important participants in early human history.

The interviewee is a former colonel who claimed prior service in the U.S. Air Force. He had been assigned to the Dulce Facility as a member of a special medical team. This transcript consists of what the colonel saw and heard at the facility, together with information he later gathered privately after leaving the service.

Before the interview, Anthony arranged, under the pretext of a psychological inquiry, for a local psychiatrist to give Colonel X two polygraph examinations; the results indicated that he was of sound mind. At the colonel’s request, the transcript discloses no personal information about him (the reasons are mentioned), but he staked his character on the claim that everything he narrated was lived experience. The content was compiled from notes taken at the time, without artistic embellishment, and does not represent Anthony’s personal views.

Unless otherwise noted, the interviewer’s questions appear in bold.

Hello, Colonel. I’d like to start with you—what do you do now, and are you still in the military?

No. After retiring from the Air Force I went back to university and earned two master’s degrees in psychology. I am now a university teacher. I have a happy family; my three children are grown.

All right. Can you talk about your military career—how did you come into contact with the Dulce secret?

In the latter half of my service, while I was still an Air Force major, I had always dreamed of promotion to lieutenant colonel, and I worked hard for it. At the time I was stationed at McClellan Air Force Base near Sacramento, California, providing psychiatric medical services for the U.S. Air Force and occasionally for the CIA.

Then one day I received orders from Edwards AFB to go to a secret facility at Dulce, New Mexico, for a classified mission. Until then I had never heard of the place-name Dulce, nor had colleagues around me. Edwards’s orders were clear: this was a top-secret assignment, and I would need to sign the relevant nondisclosure agreements.

It was not my first top-secret mission. A year earlier I had been sent to Fort Irwin in Southern California for crash-site recovery work. A U.S. C-130E transport had crashed there. Survivors said that in the air they had a close encounter with an unidentified flying object traveling at roughly 1,500–2,000 km/h; after a deafening sonic boom the aircraft’s engines failed and it crashed, killing both pilots.

My job was to give the survivors of that crash preliminary physical and psychiatric evaluations. After the interviews our team would produce a report assessing whether those people could still serve in the military. The Fort Irwin crash survivor was judged psychologically unstable. I cannot say what he saw, but his mental state had unquestionably suffered severe trauma, and he eventually had to be hospitalized.

I know you’re more interested in Dulce, but what I mean is that this work experience was what connected me to Dulce.

McClellan Air Force Base: Built 1935–1938, in the northern highlands of Sacramento County, about 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Sacramento, California. Closed in 2001.

Edwards Air Force Base: Established in 1930; a NASA space-shuttle landing site and one of the Air Force’s major flight-test bases, including testing of America’s newest “X” series aircraft. Located in California.

Fort Irwin National Training Center: Established in 1940; one of the U.S. military’s largest training bases. Located in California.

You mean your work at Dulce was not a coincidence?

Yes. Precisely because of that Fort Irwin mission, Air Force leadership believed I was psychologically prepared for certain domains—though I was not. I don’t know who recommended me upstairs. Besides me, two highly rated peers were also summoned. Ordinarily we worked in teams of four to six, but this time there were only three; later a fourth person was added, but that person was not from our specialty.

When I first arrived at the Dulce Facility, I was surprised to find its design similar to Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, which I had visited before—except the Dulce entrance was only about half the size of that base’s. The concealment was excellent: if you flew over Dulce in an aircraft, you could not spot the entrance with the naked eye; only by landing on an inconspicuous pad would you find it. Using the desert landscape to hide the facility was very clever—without the coordinates, no one could find it.

Cheyenne Mountain: America’s largest nuclear-war fortress and the home of NORAD. Located in Colorado.

Colonel, sorry to interrupt, but I’m a bit interested in your work at Cheyenne Mountain—can you describe it?

All right. Before I went to Cheyenne Mountain I already had a bachelor’s degree in psychology. I had wanted to find time for a degree in psychiatry, but our training was grueling and I had no energy left for study. To that end I began volunteering for internal military medical-team assignments: we conducted psychiatric evaluations of military personnel, usually after they had been through certain events. Those events were typically classified—like Fort Irwin, which I’ve mentioned. There were also places like Cheyenne Mountain, where we had to evaluate personnel who had been in deep isolation for long periods.

Cheyenne Mountain Base sits about 600 meters deep inside the mountain; many people work there. But only those rated “top-tier,” or in certain special specialties, needed our evaluations. It wasn’t severe: of roughly 1,500 people at the base, maybe only three to five would develop mild claustrophobia—but if someone was found to have severe claustrophobia or taphephobia (fear of being buried alive), they would be reassigned.

What is taphephobia?

Exactly what it sounds like—a constant fear of being buried alive. The symptom is not uncommon in these bases. Once it is found, the base doesn’t bother trying to correct or treat it; it simply reassigns the person. That is how most military bases operate—except the Dulce Facility.

What’s different about Dulce?

Because the people who can work at Dulce are not assigned at random, and they cannot be swapped out freely; they have to pass strict background checks and psychological tests.

Got it. Could you talk about your assignment?

Of course. Around late November 1979 I was at McClellan waiting for the next set of orders. There are more than a hundred military bases in the United States, so my team never lacked work. For some classified missions the CIA would always get involved, turning the job into a joint military-CIA operation.

This time, though, the paperwork that came over was stamped with an official seal reading “Top Secret/SCI – USAF, DoE Restricted Content,” plus an embossed DoE mark. That was a first for me, because until then it had always been the CIA; I had never dealt with the Department of Energy. At the time I didn’t even know what the DoE did. Later I learned it had been established in 1977 and was responsible for nuclear weapons, naval nuclear reactors, and nuclear energy development programs.

Before I had even finished reading the order, headquarters called and told me to report to Edwards at once; an HC-130 was already waiting for me on the ramp. I figured something urgent had happened, grabbed my pack, and ran. The flight took about an hour.

At Edwards I ran into several colleagues I already knew, but only one of them had received the same orders I had. He was a major too; we had worked together on after-action investigations of classified incidents. Our orders were to keep silent and wait for a brigadier general mentioned in the report. That was odd as well, because ordinarily our team lead was only a lieutenant colonel.

There were three of us, all majors: me, the Air Force major I already knew, and a major from the Navy. I kept wondering who that brigadier general was, suspecting he was the officer in charge at Edwards.

Colonel, can you talk about those colleagues or that brigadier general?

No. I will not disclose any private information that might get someone hurt. All I can tell you is our ranks, and the time and place of the events. I will give you everything that helps you understand what happened, but I will not reveal anyone’s personal details.

All right, let me put it another way: without getting into private details, can you tell me whether they are still alive?

That I can. The brigadier general has passed away. The Air Force major I knew is still at home; the Navy major is doing well—he lives in Florida. Incidentally, after the Dulce incident my role in the military was no longer the same as theirs.

Understood. Please go on about Dulce.

Let me say again: before this mission I had never heard of Dulce. I had once gone with my family to the desert in northern New Mexico, but I had never been there on official business, and I had never heard of any military presence there.

When I saw “Dulce Facility” on the briefing, my first thought was that it was an airfield, a military base, or some fairly classified research lab. Then the brigadier general gave us a basic fact: the Dulce Facility was a secret complex near the town of Dulce, New Mexico, made up of two parts. It was similar to Cheyenne Mountain, but built in a completely different way, and the military command structure inside was unusual, with a very high clearance level.

Even so, when I first arrived I was still startled by the sign: “Welcome to the Rio Arriba Scientific & Technological Underground Auxiliary”.

My God, is that the official name of Dulce Base?

Yes. The public does not know that, and I have never seen the name exposed in the media or on the internet. People inside just called it “Rio Arriba” or “Dulce Facility.”

If you have ever looked at unclassified U.S. military documents, you may have seen the name marked as “RIO ARRIBA CO” or “RIO-AUX” (short for Auxiliary). Another little-known detail is that the Dulce Facility consisted of two parts; a third was built only later.

I can tell you about the first two parts first. They were called D-1 and D-2. D-1 is the largest facility, directly under Archuleta Mesa; D-2 is a smaller two-level facility a few miles east of the Archuleta plateau, underground. D-1 was the main research site—all the clerks and scientists worked there. D-2 was for security support personnel; it had a helipad with a hydraulic lift so a landing helicopter could drop underground at once. Below the pad there was also a bay for High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles.

What use is a Humvee in an underground base? Can you even drive in that terrain?

They sit on the first subterranean level, where a platform links the D-1 and D-2 sectors. The Humvees can run in the desert around Dulce, but they are usually used only inside the base.

What I saw was this: helicopters brought supplies to the D-2 pad, descended underground, and Humvees loaded the cargo and took it to D-1. Besides that, a great deal of material also came into D-1 from Los Alamos and other places.

In 1982, while I was still there, two M998 trucks had to be swapped for a new model. The new vehicles were first moved along County Road 357 to the Colorado border and then driven to D-2. Once they arrived at D-2 they were quickly sent underground. The D-1 entrances were seldom used; most visitors reached the facility by shuttle.

I have some questions. How do those pads stay hidden? They’re on the surface, aren’t they?

If you had been there yourself you would understand. On the east slope of the mesa, between it and County Road 357, there are not many obstacles. There are only a few houses, basically unoccupied. In ordinary times the pads are covered with large industrial tarps, and the surfaces themselves are painted to blend into the surroundings, so even an aircraft flying over would not notice them.

Inside D-1 there is an enormous warehouse, but helicopters usually parked only at D-2. The huge D-1 warehouse was typically used to store two enormous flying saucers. Those craft did not belong to us.

Flying saucers?

Yes—saucers that were not ours. I will get to that later; let me stay with the original line of thought first.

All right, please continue.

Although D-2 is remote, people still show up. There is a visible dirt road at the entrance, rough but followable all the way to D-2. Many local Jicarilla People know the base entrance; some even know secrets inside. Because of DSD-3’s control, they never talk about it publicly.

To keep ordinary people away, there is a small shed nearby fitted with many sensors and cameras, usually with one or two soldiers posted inside. The hut has no markings; it looks like an ordinary house and is almost always locked. If you have heard rumors that someone found an entrance in that area, they may be true—the D-2 entrance is not especially hard to find.

The D-1 entrance, however, is essentially impossible to discover. Its main entry is a huge sliding door, similar to Cheyenne Mountain, but the outer layer is thick rock; when it is closed it simply looks like ordinary mountain.

There is also a trail outside the D-1 entrance. It was built in 1947; the public story was that it was for an outfit called the “Lumbar Company.” In fact it was built by U.S. Army engineers from Muroc Army Air Field to construct the Dulce Facility. In 1949 they destroyed the road, leaving only remnants.

One more point: the entire operation of the Dulce Facility was run by LANL.

Jicarilla: Native people living in New Mexico who speak a Southern Athabaskan language; they have a dedicated autonomous territory.

LANL?

Los Alamos National Laboratories: there is a direct line from the Dulce Facility to Los Alamos. In fact D-1’s official name is TA-D1, and the same goes for D-2 and D-3. Insiders drop the “TA” and just say D-1. What I mean is that LANL controlled the running of the whole facility. Some senior people could give orders directly to DSD-3 or carry out extremely high-clearance operations; together with DSD-3 they selected who was fit to work at Dulce. As for D-2, only DSD-3 pilots and security personnel were there.

LANL: Founded in 1943, under the U.S. Department of Energy; one of two national laboratories that design U.S. nuclear weapons. Located in New Mexico.

Can an ordinary person drive to D-2?

If your vehicle is especially suited to off-road driving, it is possible, but still difficult because the local terrain is poor. You can come off County Road 357 and walk to D-2—if you know the coordinates.

Can you give me the coordinates?

Technically, I can. But that would put both of us in immediate danger. You have to understand that most of what I am telling you already violates DSD-3’s secrecy agreements. They could track me from this material alone and then kill us. I am in a relatively safe position right now, and I do not want to change that.

Can you talk about how you keep yourself safe?

No, I cannot. But you can think about why I am willing to sit here and talk to you: we have a mutual friend. You know which companies that friend used to work for, and you know what he has gone through over the past ten years. He and I are from the same circle; we built a network to protect people like us who know secrets and are willing to share them with the public. I can also tell you this: after today’s conversation you will not see me again. I already have the next step planned, and my family will leave with me to live somewhere else. That is all I can tell you.

Then can we talk about D-2 again? From your description I don’t think finding it would be hard.

That’s right. Quite a few people have seen D-2. Every year there are a number of them; if you search hard enough locally you can always find it. But it doesn’t mean much. The houses and surface buildings are camouflage. The real D-2 is underground; it contains a hydraulic lift system and some storage space.

Where does the base get its power? Online sources say Dulce Base’s electricity comes from nearby Navajo Dam and El Vado Dam. Is that true?

No. That is fiction. I have seen the same claim on the internet. I have always followed Dulce stories, but the people making them up are talking complete nonsense, which also lets me tell very quickly whether the author ever actually entered the Dulce Facility.

The energy used by D-1 and D-2 both comes from factory-sealed 200 kW miniature nuclear reactors a few meters in diameter, refueled once every ten years. These things were approved by the DoE and designed and built by LANL; they have been in use for decades.

What surprised me is that this technology only recently entered the civilian sector. It is not just Dulce; many other underground bases controlled by LANL use it as well, such as Pine Gap in Australia, the Northrop Corporation-Pico Rivera plant, The Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center, PARI – Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute, and others.

Miniature nuclear reactor: a proposed inherently safe fast-breeder design whose principal design and development work has been led by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (also under the U.S. Department of Energy).

Pine Gap: the common name for a U.S. satellite-surveillance base and Australian earth station, about 18 kilometers southwest of Alice Springs in Australia’s Northern Territory, jointly operated by Australia and the United States.

Northrop Corporation Pico Rivera plant: a U.S. military plant built in the California desert, reportedly responsible for manufacturing the B-21.

Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center: buried in the Virginia mountains about 75 kilometers northwest of Washington, D.C.; a refuge for senior U.S. officials in a nuclear war, also called the underground Pentagon.

Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute: an observation facility established by NASA, no longer in use.

Colonel, sorry—what are these places you mentioned?

They are all deep underground research facilities, used for medicine, the military, science, and other fields. Besides the United States, many countries have them—Australia, Canada, and some European countries have built such facilities. Russia has them too: there is a military base at Yamantau Mountain whose volume is even larger than Cheyenne Mountain.

China’s underground bases are even more formidable than Russia’s. Their core is in Chengdu, and from there they have built an underground rail system. But their Chengdu underground facility is used only for military research, which is different from Dulce.

I do not know China and Russia in great depth, but my guess is they also have facilities that deserve more attention. China’s stealth capabilities are developing rapidly; the stealth of their Song-class submarines has exceeded our expectations, and one even approached a U.S. fleet cruising in the Pacific without a sound. So you have to understand how important the Dulce Facility is to U.S. national security.

Yamantau Mountain military base: an underground military bunker built by the Russians for nuclear war.

Song-class submarine: NATO reporting name “Song,” i.e. the Type 039 submarine.

Can you talk about the factory-sealed reactor technology? Is there a risk of nuclear leaks?

“Factory-sealed” means they leave the factory already in a usable state, with a high safety factor. The designs are fifty years old, and Los Alamos has continued to provide technical support. Simply put, the chance of a Chernobyl-style accident is not high, because the reactor is a single unit buried deep in a concrete shell.

They are all very small, each only a few dozen cubic meters, and can last at least fifty years. The freshwater used at the facility does come from El Vado Dam, but Navajo Dam has never supplied D-1 or D-2 with anything. I am not sure about D-3; it is possible D-3’s freshwater comes from Navajo Dam, which may be where the online rumor started.

Do you know anything else about the D-3 facility?

Before I arrived at Dulce I had already learned some things about D-3 from the files in my hands. Later people also told me that as early as the mid-1960s there were plans to expand the Dulce Facility. Project Gasbuggy was a booster for that expansion, because the project site was right near Dulce.

As I understand it, D-3’s construction should have been finished in 1991. Construction had started as early as 1978, but the “incident” of 1979 suddenly tightened the situation and forced the work to be postponed. I myself retired in 1983; information after that date is not from my own experience. Project Gasbuggy had been used to create caverns quickly, and LANL scientists guaranteed that advanced materials they had developed could prevent residual radiation contamination. All of that was stopped by what happened in 1979.

In 1980 I personally led a team escorting a group of D-1 engineers to survey terrain near Leandro Canyon. Because Leandro Canyon is relatively far from D-1 and D-2, they first built a reservoir there. But the underground maglev tunnel linking D-3 and D-1 was not completed until much later. I can tell you on my authority that there is a shaft near the D-3 reservoir, set up as an emergency ventilation duct; it is part of the D-3 facility.

Project Gasbuggy: a nuclear-test program approved by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission in 1967, detonating nuclear explosions underground and in caverns in search of peaceful uses of nuclear energy. Many people believe the real purpose was to build underground facilities quickly.

Colonel, you keep mentioning the 1979 incident. Could you go back and tell the Dulce story from the beginning?

All right, we have wandered a bit. I mentioned earlier that I was summoned to the Dulce Facility on an emergency basis because, forty-eight hours earlier, a serious clash had broken out there between special forces inside the facility and the inhabitants of the lower levels. Our team’s job was to conduct psychiatric evaluations of the survivors; during the interviews we also had to administer a neural agent to each of them. Still on the plane to Dulce, the brigadier general told us the evaluation process would be as follows:

1. Initial interview 2. Administer the agent 3. Observe changes 4. Interview again 5. Produce a report

I quickly realized the procedure was wrong, because I am not an M.D., and neither were my colleagues; we should not have been giving these people drugs. I asked the brigadier general leading us, carefully: “Isn’t it against regulations to give them a neural agent with no doctor present?” That requirement was part of our usual workflow; a physician was mandatory.

But the brigadier general offered no explanation: “Major, you do what you’re fucking told, or wait to be shipped to the worst posting you’ve ever seen—understood?” Then, as if that were not enough, he threatened me: “If you keep that sour look on your face, I’ll kick you off this plane right now.”

I glanced at the colleague I knew; he very wisely kept his mouth shut. I had no choice but to lower my head and obey. “Yes, sir.”

Then the brigadier general’s manner turned amiable again; I could hardly believe the man who had just been roaring was the same person. He spoke to us of his own accord: “Major, I am as much in the dark about this mission as you are, but I know you were chosen because you meet the standard, especially on the psychological side. Your superiors told me that even under the hardest pressure you several can grit your teeth and get through it, and you will not collapse for psychological reasons.”

Then he handed us several envelopes. “Now we are facing an unknown situation. Some parts of it I barely understand, but I will do my job anyway. I hope you will too. I want you to look at what is in the envelope first. Whatever it is, you will complete your assignment. Understood?” “Yes, sir.”

Can you say what was in the envelopes?

If you had told me in advance what was in those briefing papers, I would have thought you were insane. We had to finish reading them before the plane landed. The volume of information was enormous.

The brigadier general’s envelopes contained three complete briefing files. Each set could fill an office folder. The first described a clash at the Dulce Facility two days earlier, but the details were extremely vague; it only mentioned that we had suffered quite a few casualties. The second contained the layout of the whole facility and some operating manuals, including how it ran. The strangest was the third, titled as a history of the Dulce Facility. I found that very odd, because I had never been given a detailed historical background on a destination before a mission.

The third file also contained material on the “inhabitants.” At first I thought it was about Native Americans or Mexican indigenous people, but as I read I felt something was off. Then I was hit with a tremendous psychological shock; my mind felt as if it had been struck, and my chest grew very tight. I had to stop reading and look up at my colleague, who was reading the same thing. His face was pale and his eyes were full of panic. We looked at each other several times; once even the brigadier general stopped reading and looked at me. But his expression stayed perfectly calm. He seemed not to care about content that went beyond any realistic imagination; he was focused only on the mission. I think that is exactly why he had been chosen.

The reason I thought the “inhabitants” in the documents meant Native Americans was that at first they listed some symbols and cuneiform that looked primitive. Soon I realized all of it concerned a “non-human” species. What I was trying to learn about was not some primitive tribe, but an entirely new race.

Then the brigadier general told us that once we entered the Dulce Facility a Navy major would join us—the man I mentioned earlier. At the time a Navy presence on our mission felt jarring, but later I learned from the report that the operation was jointly organized by the U.S. Navy, Army, and Air Force; the command was called “Installation Command.”

That command is the military agency that administers the whole of RIO-AUX. It is supported by the federal Black Budget, with representation from all sides: Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake for the Navy, Edwards Air Force Base for the Air Force, and the United States Army Research Laboratory for the Army. All three groups fall under the Department of Defense.

The report also noted that personnel inside the facility did not welcome the entry of the uninformed, which is why we were driven to read every secret about the place as soon as we boarded. Although the Dulce Facility is run by the military, it is not a military base but a purely scientific research site. Two principal contractors handle the interface with Dulce: RAND Corporation for biogenetics, geology, chemistry, and experimental medicine, and Bechtel Corporation for infrastructure, traffic, transport, excavation, tunneling, and so on.

Black budget: federal funds allocated to classified agencies, amounting each year to about 10 percent of defense spending; the vast majority of programs have never been made public.

Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake: a large military base in California responsible for U.S. Navy research, testing, and evaluation.

United States Army Research Laboratory: established in 1992, responsible for U.S. Army weapons research. Its predecessor was the R&D center of the Army Department General Staff.

RAND Corporation: founded in 1948, one of America’s largest think tanks, providing research and intelligence analysis for the U.S. military.

Bechtel Corporation: founded in 1906, America’s largest construction and engineering company.

Were there other contractors?

Yes: Applied Molecular Genetics, URS Corporation, Raytheon, and IBM—that was the list as of 1983. Those companies provided services to the Dulce Facility in the name of the General Service Administration, but the only parties that actually signed contracts with Dulce were RAND and Bechtel.

Amgen: founded in 1980, one of America’s largest biopharmaceutical companies.

URS Corporation: founded in 1951, a U.S. federal contractor for engineering design and construction design.

Raytheon: founded in 1922, a Department of Defense contractor; 90 percent of its revenue comes from the DoD.

IBM: founded in 1911, one of America’s largest technology and consulting companies.

How were they paid?

I don’t know. The flow of money was completely classified as far as we were concerned. The only thing I know is that the sums were enormous.

All right. Please continue with your first trip to Dulce.

All right. On the plane we were required to read the files in our hands twice, because people inside the facility wanted us to get up to speed quickly. The brigadier general said that what we would hear from surviving military personnel would be incredible, but we had to be able to grasp the situation fast, so we had to read carefully.

I first read the layout of the facility, then began studying the weapons and technology mentioned in the documents—weapons and technology belonging to those “inhabitants.” Then we read together a physiological and anatomical report on the “inhabitants.” My colleague was a biology specialist; he could explain some of the structural features to me.

The brigadier general also said that once we arrived we would have 48 hours to finish the work and then we had to leave. So we had to plan our schedule in advance. In fact it was not just us: everyone would evacuate after we finished. The facility would be sealed until higher leadership decided what to do next.

As soon as we got off the plane we saw that the situation really was urgent. We first held several hurried short meetings with the facility’s security department, then were taken inside. Many people were being looked after, wrapped in blankets and drinking hot coffee. One room was lined with body bags; it had been turned into a temporary morgue.

We started work in another room. We had to check the names on the list one by one, making sure everyone was marked—alive, dead, or missing. The survivors had been told they could board the maglev back to Los Alamos National Laboratory only after our clearance, so they came rushing in eagerly.

I was astonished when I saw them: they were not military, just scientists and engineers. “How could they work here and keep the secret?” Later I learned their average annual salary was over $300,000—a considerable figure in the 1970s—and I believe the military had also threatened them.

Dollar value: in 1979 the average American annual salary was about $20,000.

Colonel, may I ask where you board the Los Alamos maglev?

At LANL Technical Area 3 (LANL TA-3). Look at the size of the parking lots there and ask yourself why they need so much space to park. Because many people’s workplace is the Dulce Facility. There are also LANL TA-41, TA-49, and TA-73.

But I still have a question: if that many people really work there, how could they keep it perfectly hidden?

Because of strict classification. Only some people in the facility have access to sensitive information. They have many identities—engineers, geologists, scientists—and can assign others to non-sensitive work. They are jointly administered by DSD-3 and the CIA; before they get clearance they go through rigorous vetting to keep the chance of leaks as low as possible.

These people generally earn more than $300,000 a year, while on the outside they would only make $50,000. The CIA’s treatment of leakers is also a deterrent: a leaker would undoubtedly be secretly executed, so no one dares speak.

Of course, in the early years of construction those carrots and sticks were not yet practiced smoothly, so it was only from 1960 onward that civilian employees were gradually added at Dulce; until then it had been entirely under military control.

The CIA’s secret MKULTRA program was used to screen people suitable to work at Dulce and keep secrets, and then, over long subsequent employment, to keep brainwashing them.

MKULTRA: a CIA-led human mind-control program that began in 1953 and stopped in 1973. It involved many illegal activities, including drug experiments on unwitting civilians, and caused enormous controversy.

All right, please continue with the Dulce story.

All right. As soon as I entered the facility, the brigadier general told me that because of a certain agreement the fighting there had caused the place to be designated a DMZ (demilitarized zone). I found that incredible—how could there be a demilitarized zone inside the United States? But from what I observed, the facility was unquestionably on high alert.

DMZ: an area where countries agree to prohibit all hostile armed activity.

Colonel, after looking at the site, do you think the material given to you in advance held anything back?

No—on the contrary, I felt they had given too much. I still did not know what mission I was about to carry out; I only wondered why they were letting me see so many secrets. We went first to Kirtland AFB, then by helicopter to the Dulce Facility. Later I learned there are also roads on the ground that can take you there. But because it was already an emergency, the area for several miles around had been placed under military control, and no one was allowed near.

Kirtland Air Force Base: established in 1941, located in New Mexico.

Please continue.

All right. The report in my hands stated that in 1940 the U.S. Army accidentally discovered a multi-level underground facility under Archuleta Mesa, about the size of a small city. At the time they were looking in New Mexico for a suitable site for atomic-energy experiments.

Archuleta Mesa: in Archuleta County, New Mexico. The rumored location of Dulce Base.

Didn’t our atomic-energy experiments begin with the Manhattan Project in 1942?

Of course not. Scientists had proposed the idea as early as 1938. In 1939 Roosevelt summoned the physicist Lyman Briggs and formed a body called The Uranium Committee to handle atomic-energy research. That is all public history; you can look it up. In the report, the discovery of Dulce was closely tied to the development of atomic energy.

The unit that found the Dulce Facility was looking for a suitable nuclear-test site. They were called The Muroc Expedition because they had been selected from Muroc Army Air Field in California. These men discovered the Dulce Facility; they made one of the greatest discoveries in human history, but the U.S. government covered it all up. They either died in combat or were imprisoned, with no chance to declare what they had found.

Muroc Army Air Field: the predecessor of Edwards Air Force Base. Renamed in 1949.

Died in combat? You mean they opened fire when they found the facility?

Yes. Not long after they started fighting, the air base noticed something unusual. Then came a large-scale cover-up and a raised classification, so that the soldiers’ families and friends thought they had been killed on some other mission.

The air base? Wasn’t it the Army that found the facility?

At that time the United States had no independent Air Force; so-called air bases belonged to the Army. If there are no more questions I’ll go on: when the troops entered the facility they found the top level was already largely abandoned. These men were experts in geology to begin with; their original goal was to find a nuclear-test site, so exploring caves was second nature.

On the first level they first found many ancient artifacts scattered beside machines that looked modern yet unlike anything they had seen. The walls were covered with screens resembling radar displays, and there were consoles the wrong size for humans, plus devices that looked like cipher machines or typewriters.

The soldiers could not understand what they were seeing. They recorded that “the fineness of this equipment far exceeds our country’s technological level; it may be Germany’s latest invention.” They made similar notes at every location: “extremely fine electronic television sets, possibly German-made.”

The screens covering the walls were very flat; to the touch they felt like some kind of glass, but there seemed to be liquid inside. The soldiers also found hundreds of thick black cables whose internal wires were extremely fine and undamaged even when bent. They then traced the cables and found they led deeper; strangely, many of the cables on the top level had been cut by hand. Someone asked, “Where is the power for this equipment?” because they had found no generating machinery of any kind.

What was eerie was that at the entrance they also found blades used by Native Americans, more than a hundred feathered arrows, and some bows—common Native weapons—plus Colt revolvers and Winchester repeating rifles, with some ammunition scattered nearby. The evidence suggested humans had been there.

The commander wrote that everything in the place seemed anachronistic, because those futuristic-looking machines sat alongside these ancient weapons, and they also found several Native American corpses. He thought the clothing on the bodies dated from before the 1840s, while Colt revolvers were weapons commonly used around 1870.

“These Native Americans had fought some enemy here.” After they finished recording, they went back to camp to rest. The next day they began exploring deeper levels. They found patterns on the walls that felt like metal, but when they pressed with a finger they left a mark of light. They had never seen a material that could glow on its own and found it incredible. There were also rectangular windows giving off purple fluorescence, icy to the touch.

The soldiers also found some remains, but they were very small, with especially large skulls and eye sockets. There were Native remains as well, but they could not determine the era.

“It looks as if Native Americans chased these people here.” The rooms were like those above: many machines and devices, all shrouded in thick cobwebs and dust.

Muroc’s commanding officer believed they could not get more information with their present capabilities, so he ordered the party to leave, then found a friend with a degree in archaeology to appraise the finds. Deeper in they had discovered some ultrathin metal sheets they called “tablets,” inscribed with writing. The archaeologist took a preliminary look and thought the script resembled ancient Mesopotamian cuneiform, but he could not identify it.

Later I learned that after years of study the U.S. military decrypted this alien writing. Worth noting is that its roots are the same as human cuneiform; Akkadian and Ugaritic civilizations used similar script structures.

Cuneiform: an ancient script from the Tigris-Euphrates region, invented by the Sumerians around 3200 BCE, one of the world’s earliest writing systems.

Akkadian civilization: active in Mesopotamia from 2334 BCE to 2192 BCE. Used cuneiform.

Ugaritic civilization: active in Syria from 1450 BCE to 1200 BCE. Used cuneiform.

Colonel, can you talk about those “inhabitants”?

Yes. Through the writing we found there were many races, but only one of them occupied this facility. Our understanding of them came mainly from the tablets: we learned their history and why they were hiding in this cave.

To put it simply, four kinds of aliens once existed on Earth. The first are called the Progenitors, aliens from Sirius; the second are the Anu, descendants of the Progenitors after genetic enhancement; the third are the Austra Albus (hereafter the Austra), descendants of the Anu after genetic modification; last are the Greys, whose genes have no connection to the Progenitors.

And of course there is us, Homo sapiens; our genes were modified as well.

Greys? You mean the kind of aliens that often appear on television?

Basically yes. The Greys hide in underground caves, while the Austra adapted to the surface environment and live among human society.

Why did they hide in the caves at Dulce?

That story has to start from the beginning. At first the Progenitors were a group of technologically powerful aliens. They originally lived at Zeta Reticuli, then migrated to the Sirius system and occupied two planets there. About several million years ago they discovered the solar system and migrated again, to Mars.

They lived on Mars for a hundred thousand years. After an asteroid impact they had to abandon Mars and come to Earth. Earth’s environment was not suitable for the Progenitors; besides oxygen their metabolism also needed a certain amount of helium. Earth’s atmosphere had too little helium, and not enough carbon dioxide either. To continue their bloodline they modified their own genes to cope with Earth’s atmosphere—that produced the Anu. For convenience of survival the Anu then created a servant population called Eloah, that is, the Greys we speak of. These Greys were essentially the Anu’s slaves, constantly collecting resources and providing labor.

After living on Earth for a little more than a thousand years, the Anu discovered genetic defects in themselves; they still could not fully adapt to Earth, so they began another round of modification. The new population created this time was called the Austra Albus. The term is a direct phonetic rendering from the tablets; we do not know the etymology.

Before the Anu died out they warned the Austra to be wary of the Greys, not to let their numbers grow too large, and not to let them have too much contact with Earth’s humans. The Austra complied, but their genes still could not adapt to Earth. To survive they chose to hybridize with Earth’s native inhabitants. The attempt succeeded; the Austra have continued to this day, but their bloodline is no longer pure.

These people are the ones who today control all power, money, and status in the world. They are hybrid descendants of aliens and humans. You may have read this in many conspiracy theories, but I am telling you it is true. They are descendants of strictly arranged marriages; all reproduction is screened. They form an inner circle and do not admit outsiders.

It sounds like a conspiracy theory, but it was told to us by Dissident Greys. The tablets record in detail how these alien-human hybrids survive in human society. At present 99 percent of their alien blood has been purged, but the remaining genes still keep them at a distance from humans.

Zeta Reticuli: a wide double star in the southern constellation Reticulum. The most notable features of this small far-southern constellation are several interesting double stars and relatively bright galaxies. It is 39 light-years from Earth.

Sirius system: Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky, 8.9 light-years from Earth. The Dogon people of West Africa, without any astronomical instruments, clearly understood the Sirius system’s motion, orbit, and period. The Dogon claimed this knowledge of those bodies came from a people called the Nommos who came to Earth from the Sirius system, but the scientific community does not accept that account.

Martian ruins: conspiracy theorists believe Mars holds a large number of man-made remains, including the D&M Pyramid, the Cydonia Face, the Crowned Kings Face, and the Mars Rover Statue of a Person. NASA has never acknowledged this, regarding them as optical illusions of terrain under particular lighting.

Anu: in the myths of Sumer, ancient Babylon, Assyria, and other early civilizations, Anu is a sky god who dwells in heaven.

Eloah: ancient Hebrew, from the Hebrew Old Testament, meaning “mighty.” Etymology unknown.

Colonel, I have a question: do these hybrid aliens you mention have anything to do with the Illuminati?

The material I found does not mention the Illuminati. But if there is an organization or group based on bloodline and a mysterious origin, claiming to be so-called “descendants of the gods,” they are likely hybrids of the Austra and early Homo sapiens. I cannot say for certain whether this Illuminati is alien-human hybrid, because the tablets record only one thing: the masters of this world are the Austra.

Illuminati: a secret society founded in Bavaria in 1776. The organization is often accused in conspiracy theories of taking part in controlling world affairs—by holding the power to issue currency, staging historical events, and planting agents in governments and corporations to gain political power and influence, ultimately to establish a “New World Order.”

Can you talk about the Greys’ genetic issues? Do they have any relation to Earth humans?

They have nothing to do with Earth humans at all. They also have no relation to the Progenitors; they are composed of genes from other species on the Progenitors’ original planet. According to our research they seem to share genetic segments with certain insects on Earth. Earth humans’ genes were also modified by the Austra; we received some alien genes.

According to the Greys’ tablets, about 100,000 years ago they rose against the Austra, failed, and were driven underground. In fact they had already been settled on the North American continent as early as 26,000 years ago.

Their history spans tens of thousands of years?

No—earlier. The chronology they recorded reaches a million years. I know that is hard to believe. When I first encountered this knowledge I questioned human history, religion, and faith; that is normal.

All right, let’s go back to 1940. You mentioned earlier that humans clashed with the inhabitants in the caves. Can you describe that?

Yes. In 1940, after the Muroc Expedition soldiers found the facility, they set up an archaeology camp on the top level. As archaeologists and geologists got involved, exploration of the place grew tighter and tighter. When they reached the second level they had already begun to encounter some Greys, though at the time they called them “inhabitants.” The gear and weapons the soldiers carried made it impossible to stay concealed. They could sense someone following them in the dark, but there was no interaction.

The lower caves had no light sources, but the walls and tunnel sides had the same purple-fluorescent material they had seen before, so they could still just make out the way forward. The soldiers found that the lower the level, the hotter and more humid it became; even droplets condensed on the walls, and there was a foul smell, like some kind of chemical plant.

The investigation lasted several weeks. Throughout, the Greys hid in the dark watching the soldiers but never interacted. All the tablets that were dug up were shipped to the Muroc base at Alamogordo.

At the time several soldiers’ job was simply to write down everything they saw. As time passed, the people on site had basically grown used to the place. Then came exploration of the third level. They began to hear noises of unknown origin, lasting several minutes, a hissing sound, as if some creature were deliberately making the noise. The soldiers did not know then that the Greys were trying to frighten them, because they believed there were no other living things there.

As the exploration went deeper the sounds grew eerie, like a child’s screams of agony, and a woman’s shrieks. But soon someone noticed the sounds seemed to repeat in a pattern, as if a phonograph were playing on a loop.

“These sounds seem like human voices,” the commander recorded. By then the exploration work was basically done. He decided to pull the team back first and return later to investigate the sounds. Unexpectedly, two soldiers on the exploration thought they had heard the source of the sound and decided to go look on their own.

The two went deeper; it was even hotter and more humid inside. They came upon a room. Peering in secretly, one soldier said he saw at least fifty “inhabitants” in a room, with what looked like a lot of experimental equipment on the tables, and some inhabitants and animals lying on platforms, as if some kind of experiment were underway.

The soldiers were stunned by the Greys’ huge eyes and small stature. One of them noticed a screen on a wall of the room, like those they had seen on the upper levels, showing brightly colored television images of every move the humans were making on the top level. He realized these inhabitants fully knew the expedition’s whereabouts and prepared to slip back upstairs to report, but the Greys soon noticed the two of them and poured out trying to capture them.

One soldier was caught; the other could only run for his life toward the upper levels. He shouted all the way until he saw figures above, realized he had a chance to be saved, and fired wildly behind him.

The other soldiers heard the shots and immediately fired in his direction; luckily they did not kill him by mistake. The soldier burst into the group: “Monsters, behind me!” Only then did the soldiers see a pack of Greys coming after him with weapons, and they immediately formed up to fight.

The fighting was intense and lasted about three hours. The “inhabitants” used a kind of light weapon that burned objects to ash on impact. At first it caused fairly heavy casualties among the expedition, but the commander soon found that metal objects in the cave could block the rays, so he ordered the soldiers to take cover behind metal. Although the “inhabitants'” weapons were advanced, they lacked the idea of coordinated combat; unlike well-trained U.S. troops, who could quickly form a fire net and suppress them, they were driven back step by step. After the battle they counted the field: the U.S. side had lost a dozen or so men, the inhabitants more than thirty dead. They also captured the light-gun weapons the Greys had used.

From the commander’s observation, the “inhabitants” did not seem skilled at fighting. As soon as the battle began, some of the “inhabitants” who had come up in pursuit turned and fled. The commander did not intend to linger; he took the captured weapons and Grey corpses back to Muroc Air Force Base. The soldiers, however, had already fallen into panic, because they knew clearly that what they had fought was not ordinary humans but another form of life. They were about 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall, with gray-white skin, large black eyes, almost no sclera, and no hair anywhere on the body.

The Army leadership at Muroc was shocked by the battle. They immediately ordered the expedition back to the caves to collect more evidence, and at once sent people to seal off the surrounding area. On this exploration the expedition did not meet Greys again, but they also dared not explore below level four; they simply took everything they could find from the top three levels.

This investigation found that Native American corpses were not numerous—at least far fewer than the Grey remains discovered—which meant this group of Greys really was not good at fighting; they could not even defeat Native Americans with more primitive weapons. After the military learned of the Native American involvement it sent a special team to visit local tribes. Some Native people told the military they had had legends since ancient times about monsters under the mesa, and stories of warriors fighting the monsters.

In the period after I retired from the Dulce Facility I also visited those tribes. I spent a great deal of time and effort studying their folklore so I could fit in. From the local Native Americans I heard stories of UFOs, Greys, and human abductions. It was fascinating; they are the most reliable eyewitnesses.

According to Grey records, besides North America they also have branches living on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, but I have never been there and cannot confirm that.

Interesting…

Yes. So from 1940 through 1979, New Mexico was in fact the most advanced scientific research center in the entire United States. The technological products we found in the Dulce Facility brought enormous improvement and leaps for our country’s technology.

Colonel, after forty years of conflict, if the Greys still exist, how could the military use the Dulce Facility?

About two years after the battle ended, at the end of 1942, the United States was already in the war. To develop new technology as fast as possible the military stepped up excavation of the Dulce Facility. The first problem to solve was relations with the Greys. Linguists were assembled to decipher Grey writing; geologists and engineers began repairing the original caves; scientists tried to reverse-engineer their weapons. Of the first personnel to enter the facility, the only ones still in that post were the Muroc Expedition commander and the original scientists. Other ordinary soldiers were either reassigned or honorably discharged. Some who had suffered psychological trauma were sent to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, for compulsory correction; some soldiers were sent to the Portsmouth Naval Prison, charged with threatening national security.

Colonel, why send those who lived through it away instead of letting them keep working at Dulce?

When I read that part of the report I had the same question. I guessed it was because the military believed this area would be a future research core, a brand-new facility, and they needed to carefully screen people they could trust rather than use the old soldiers.

And then?

The military first built a complete permanent facility on the top level. Because the Greys mainly gathered on the lower levels, the military did not rush in; it first tried to find a way to communicate with them. By the end of 1943 linguists had a breakthrough decrypting the tablets. They decoded the contents of some devices: the optical cables found on the top level were in fact fiber optics for data transmission; the huge screens and electronic typewriters were a form of computer; there were also medical pods and scanning equipment. These technologies have now spread in the civilian sector; I am sure they are familiar to you.

Strangely, most of the equipment on the top level had sat idle for hundreds to thousands of years. The military guessed that worsening conditions outside had made it impossible for the Greys to keep living on the top level, because their skin cannot tolerate the sun and dryness.

Then came a long period of repair. Large numbers of engineers on the top level tried to restore the equipment. They stuck translated labels on every device so they could also be in contact with the alien writing. According to the records, this alien script was very similar to the cuneiform used by early human civilizations such as Sumer, so the military specially brought in scholars of that writing from France and Britain to crack the aliens’ writing system.

The decryption work lasted a long time. Even with Mesopotamian tablets as a reference, much of the writing still could not be deciphered. But scientists still tried to communicate with the Greys using existing linguistic knowledge. At first they sent some soldiers down to the third level to leave tablets inscribed with alien writing. The Greys seemed to know humans did not intend a military assault and gave some friendly responses, such as capturing soldiers when they entered but quickly releasing them. This probing lasted a few months. After that a few Grey representatives began entering human territory above the second level and proposed trade with humans.

They urgently needed biological resources—or, to put it bluntly, organs of living things—for their genetic modification, to continue their species. In exchange they could provide humans with technical guidance.

At first this communication was very poor, because human decryption of Grey writing was so limited. But as contact deepened the Greys quickly developed highly complex translation devices, at a level human technology of the time could not reach. Only then did communication between the two sides become efficient.

Yes. For many who knew at the time, the Greys’ existence was hard to accept—because they had in fact lived on this planet earlier than humans and possessed more profound science and technology. For those who touched the Dulce secret, their beliefs about human history, politics, and religion all collapsed. Only people of firm will could accept these new facts and keep going.

Mesopotamian tablets: tablets recording early Sumerian and Akkadian, a key reference for deciphering cuneiform.

You mean discovering that we humans are not alone?

Exactly. Humans are not the only intelligent life in the universe. To put it more bluntly, intelligent life more advanced than we are lives in caves, pits, and under the surface where humans never go. Do you really think an ordinary person in 1943 could accept that? The more devout the religious believer, the less they could accept it. So in the official records of the time, people who went mad were not few, and some committed suicide.

And then?

After formal contact with the Greys, in 1943 Dulce’s secret began to be sent back to Washington in a limited way. Those in the know were still extremely few, because even the top politicians might not stay calm in the face of such facts. Tragedy still occurred. In 1947 Secretary of Defense James Vincent Forrestal was among the earliest to know, but his physical and mental condition soon deteriorated. People around him said his personality grew more and more paranoid and extreme. Imagine a man who had strongly held some religious doctrine all his life, then was told it was all false and that the real gods were just a group of aliens. Do you think he could accept that quickly? The fact is he could not.

His meeting with Secretary of the Air Force Stuart Symington accelerated his destruction. Later he jumped from a building. Officially it was said he fell himself. I don’t know the truth, but I know that people like him, after learning information beyond what they can accept, really do go down that road.

James Vincent Forrestal: the first U.S. Secretary of Defense. He jumped to his death in 1949; the reason for the suicide has still not been clearly established. Conspiracy theorists believe his death was related to aliens.

Besides him, did anyone else meet with misfortune?

Yes, but not many, because the people who knew the facts were few to begin with. Sometimes I see papers by UFO experts, or media disclosures about Dulce, and I find these people talking nonsense. Apart from a tiny number of eyewitnesses, the “truth” everyone else has touched is actually fake, because not many eyewitnesses leak secrets. They have all been strictly screened and selected, with a high classification. More important, most of these hires are for life: once you go to work at Dulce, you never leave for the rest of your life. That employment relationship originated at LANL and spread to many places—Aztec, Roswell, Farmington—but earliest in San Antonio.

San Antonio, Texas?

No, San Antonio, New Mexico—a small town of the same name. The military sighted Grey craft there. By then they had already established stable contact with the Greys, but the fact of discovering Grey craft still shocked the military, because the Greys had never mentioned it. The military had also never found intelligence about Grey craft in the Muroc Expedition’s discoveries.

On one occasion a B-29 found a crashed Grey craft near Alamogordo, plus a dead Grey pilot. Later the military learned that their high-power radar had posed a threat to the craft, causing some electromagnetic emission anomaly. For technical details you can refer to Project Diana. So the saucers that crashed in New Mexico had nothing to do with weather and everything to do with radar.

So at the time the military can be said to have deliberately used radar technology to threaten the Greys and stop them from flying freely. Crash incidents occurred in Socorro, Roswell, Aztec, and other places; they took away the wreckage. In the end the Greys resolved to display their determination and technology in the skies over Farmington.

Wow, I heard Roswell—does that have anything to do with Dulce?

Of course. Roswell is famous, but it was only one of many incidents. Through later communication we learned that the Greys had suddenly begun flying on a regular schedule in search of a new refuge, because the ongoing nuclear tests in New Mexico had terrified them; they thought humans intended to wipe them out.

The Roswell incident: this may be the most famous UFO event in history. It refers to a UFO crash near Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947. At first the military disclosed that they had found a disc-shaped craft and published it in the local paper, but six hours later senior officers denied the saucer story and said the crash was a high-altitude balloon with a radar reflector. The affair sparked the first wave of public interest in UFOs and aliens; many people believe the military’s final statement was a deliberate cover-up.

Do the Austra have anything to do with these events?

No. The Austra have fully blended into humanity. Genetically they are closer to us than the Greys are, but they see themselves as descendants of gods, with a mission to enslave humans. I will come to them later.

All right, let’s continue.

Back to Dulce. We had already set up a temporary clinic; only those who received “treatment” from us could board the train back to LANL, as I mentioned. What astonished me was that when we asked them to take the medication, not one person dared object; no one even asked what the drug was for. That shows how high the pressure in the facility was. Some staff had acute stress reactions after taking it, but they were quickly sent away.

Later I learned the drug we were providing was a high dose of propranolol hydrochloride, an agent used against traumatic events. Except for those with side effects, everyone else went through our final interview; the whole process was filmed and photographed. The facility’s security department accompanied our work throughout—or rather, monitored us. After the work they thanked us for our professionalism and said they would contact us again once the mission was accepted.

The whole assignment lasted two days. In those two days, whenever I had a chance I wandered the facility. I saw many rooms and laboratories, and I saw the corridor described in the briefing from the first discovery in 1940, but the symbols on the walls and other archaeological items were all gone; everything was new and smooth.

But I was not satisfied; what I wanted to see were the “inhabitants.” I noticed a security officer standing nearby smoking. I had gotten to know him as soon as I entered the facility. So I offered him a cigarette and asked how to go lower. He looked at me warily for a moment, as if I had some scheme, or as if he were checking my identity. Later, I guess, seeing that I could carry out a mission inside and that my clearance should be fine, he took me deeper.

I saw an extremely large warehouse with a circular entrance. The floor and walls were made of a material I had never seen; it looked like glass but felt like some kind of metal.

Then we came to a corridor that looked like an entrance to still deeper levels. I could see something like a mirage; the heat given off there was intense, and I felt very uncomfortable. The officer seemed to guess my thoughts and told me not to worry—where we were going was not that hot. Then we came to a device. He first spoke on a radio, then swiped a card, then scanned his face; the door opened automatically, revealing a long corridor lit by soft lavender light.

Along both sides of the corridor were many rooms, already empty, but I could still see many glass panels and tables and chairs, and cuneiform on the glass, which I recognized because I had seen some in the briefing. We walked about a quarter of a mile (400 meters). All the way he told me to stay calm; the “inhabitants” do not like people who startle easily.

I had read in the briefing that factions had also formed among the Greys. Some were willing to side with humans and live under supervision and management. They had come to the area above level three and mixed with humans. These were called Dissident Greys, as I mentioned; they sought peace, so they got along relatively well with humans. Greys below level 4 had less contact with humans and were more hostile; there was basically no way to enter.

Then he said the “inhabitants” do not use names. They have only Universally Unique Identifiers, or UUIDs. This was a system the contractor outsourced to a software-services company: 32 hexadecimal digits in 5 groups with hyphens, 8-4-4-4-12, 36 characters in all. The system was also bound to facial-recognition algorithms. The Greys printed the UUID as a barcode on their clothing, while humans had to use magnetic cards. The Greys did not use magnetic cards because their skin is magnetic and would demagnetize the cards. I only later learned that this complex system was developed by IBM.

I asked him about Grey social structure. He said they only knew that internal divisions among the Greys were severe. The most important reason the dissident Greys had fled upward for help was not that they wanted to cooperate with humans, but that they had been punished internally—some even with death. Humans had found many Grey corpses at the junction of levels three and four, with obvious wounds or burns inflicted by the lower-level Greys.

Unable to return to their population, these dissidents were very obedient to human leadership. When the clash broke out two days earlier they immediately counterattacked and helped humans control the situation—yes, because of the trust, humans allowed dissident Greys to carry weapons and to go back below level four at any time to trade with the lower Greys. They also did genetic research, but humans limited their scope, allowing experiments only on plants, a small number of mammals, fish, reptiles, birds, and insects.

“Do you know which animal they like best for experiments?” the officer suddenly asked. I thought, “Monkeys?” He shook his head. “No. What they like best is mice. Ninety percent of the genetic-engineering trials are done with mice. What surprised us most is that they eat the mice after the experiments.”

“Eat mice?” I was astonished. The officer shook his head again. “I wasn’t precise enough. They don’t actually eat them. They extract protein from the mouse mammary glands. They have a genetically modified mouse colony that breeds very fast and can supply them with enough uncontaminated protein. That protein is finally concentrated into powder and mixed with purified acid casein and milk. That is their energy source.”

“Besides mice, in recent years they have also started studying proteins from other animals, because only male mice have no nipples, and they only like the glandular protein from the nipple area. Of course we don’t know why they have that preference.”

Talking as we went, we finally reached a room. He swiped and scanned again; the door opened. The room clearly belonged to the “inhabitants,” because the furnishings were very different and the materials were ones I had never seen. Two rows of metal tables separated by glass panels were carved with a great deal of cuneiform. The walls had a faint purple glow. I saw something like a large laptop on a table, but it was just a plain glass panel displaying some characters, also giving off a dim light.

The officer’s expression suddenly grew very grave. He told me not to touch anything and to stay calm at all times. After a while an “inhabitant” in a white lab coat came in, about 4 feet tall, with a lanyard around his neck holding a metal tag printed with a barcode. The eeriest part was that I saw the IBM logo on that tag. The discovery felt a little unreal: why would a commercial LOGO be engraved on a product the public would never know about?

My reaction was obviously rude. The officer snapped at me, “Major?!” I came to myself, nodded to the Grey, and said hello. I did not shake hands, because the officer had told me in advance they dislike any physical contact; a polite nod is enough to show goodwill.

Then the officer handed me something like a writing tablet, the same as the computer I had seen: just a glass panel, but opaque, looking black, the screen glowing, though I could not tell where the light came from because it was so thin. You could write on it. The officer told me that through this translator you could talk with the Greys; what they wrote would convert into English, Russian, French, Chinese, Spanish, and other human languages, and it could also output audio. The officer tried writing a question, tapped the tablet, and it became Grey speech playing aloud. I had never heard of such technology, and I saw no IBM mark. This was clearly not something humans could have invented; for us at the time the sophistication was outrageous. Most of the development of human technology in the following decades was related to technology these Greys provided.

Sorry, Colonel, I want to interrupt: have you heard of Lieutenant Colonel Philip Corso?

I have. I have read his book on reverse engineering after Roswell. When I finished I knew he had been in that line of work. Human technology was exploding then—fiber optics, integrated circuits, lasers—all of it came from the 1940 discovery, plus second-generation night-vision technology taken off those saucers. Many people think: how could human technology fail to develop night vision? Didn’t night vision exist in World War II? In fact second-generation Night Vision Devices, such as SUPERGEN, came entirely from Grey technology.

When I saw the night-vision section I knew Corso was not lying; he was telling the truth, but certain people in power deliberately painted him as a fraud. I can tell you the origin of that part. The Greys taught us what a micro channel plate is, and the physics of that technology. At the Dulce Facility they showed us how to use photon interactions in a micro channel plate to produce an electron charge pulse, and how to couple those plates together to form an x-ray image intensifier. The U.S. military later mastered the technology and could produce it itself. Prototype devices were already made by late 1957, but they were not made public until after 1970. There are quite a few similar technologies that had already been invented but were restricted.

How did Corso know about this? He never worked at Dulce, but he was chief of the Army’s Foreign Technology Division. At the time he had been in contact with the Greys; his job was to pressure them through diplomatic means for technical details. Before Corso the post belonged to Frank Wisner, a genius at dealing with people. His previous work had been extracting technology from Nazis; then the target became the Greys.

Regrettably, Wisner killed himself in 1965 with his son’s shotgun. There are many rumors about his death. The credible intelligence I obtained is that he was able to become the first diplomat to deal with the Greys because he already knew the Grey story in the 1940s—even tracing his ancestral bloodline in Germany—so I suspect his death was related to the Austra.

In 1959 Wisner was sent to London. Until Corso took over in 1961, communication with the Greys was interrupted. Corso was chosen because of Project Horizon. The plan is now widely known as a failed project. In fact its purpose was not to establish a military base on the Moon, but to try to restore an alien base built there. Later our lunar astronauts saw traces of ruins on the Moon. There is evidence for all of this, but it will not be made public.

Starting with the San Antonio crash, Grey flights in New Mexico were interfered with by our radar, and we obtained saucer wreckage as well as the special clothing and equipment they wore. People at the Department of Defense were desperate to master those technologies, but reverse engineering was very difficult because many items were already damaged when obtained, and there was no way to know the principles. So the DoD began pressuring the Greys, offering Earth’s natural resources in exchange for technology. At first the Greys would not accept such a deal. The military then sealed the exits of the Dulce Facility and deployed large numbers of high-power radars nearby to interfere with their flight. The military dared to take this aggressive stance because the 1940 battle had taught us that although the Greys’ technology was advanced, they were not good at large-scale war, and their population could not compare with humanity’s.

Under that pressure the Greys were forced to accept human demands. The first most valuable technology we obtained then was the integrated circuit. Yes, the most important invention in human history actually came with Grey assistance. In the history we know, Jack Kilby is the inventor of the integrated circuit, but he received the Nobel Prize only 42 years after inventing it, because Corso’s book was not published until 1997 and drew public attention; to cover tracks, the committee was arranged to award him in 2000.

This assistance from aliens was not straightforward; it hid the Greys’ existence in a clever way. In fact from 1955 the Department of Defense had already arranged for Jack Kilby and Robert Noyce to take charge of assisted development of integrated circuits. Kilby was selected while still at the Central Research Laboratory, then sent to Texas Instruments’ Army research division for this classified task. At the same time Robert Noyce, still at Shockley Semiconductor, was also selected; he left that company and founded Fairchild Semiconductor himself.

In short, what they had to solve was miniaturizing electronic products that were still bulky at the time. The Army research division provided them with technical documents, including how certain metalloids in the carbon group display continuously changing signal voltages (continuous sine waves) when using an oscilloscope. That technology in fact came from the Greys.

Kilby’s and Noyce’s work was completely separate. The DoD did not want them to compete; it did not want this classified information to be entirely in the hands of one private sector. Grey technology was very practical, because they had long lived on Earth and used resources we can easily find. Once the direction was pointed out, our most advanced scientists could catch up quickly. The explosive technological development of the 1950s–70s all came from this, including large interconnected networks, supercomputers, infrared communications spectra, and many advances in aerospace. Corso’s disclosure was brave, and it was true. We must thank Corso for his courage.

Philip Corso: born 1915, served in the U.S. Army 1942–1963, published The Day After Roswell in 1997 about the secret U.S. military reverse-engineering program he took part in after Roswell, died of heart disease in 1998.

Frank Wisner: born 1909, one of the CIA’s founders. In September 1958 he developed manic psychosis; he died by suicide in 1965.

Project Horizon: a 1959 plan led by the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force, stating that the U.S. military needed to establish a lunar military base as soon as possible to protect potential U.S. interests on the Moon. The plan never truly entered implementation, because then-President Eisenhower vetoed its budget.

Unbelievable. That means our scientists were actually developing technology under alien guidance?

Yes, but they were still great. You have to understand that even when the direction is pointed out, being able to dig up the treasure is still an extraordinary thing.

All right, Colonel, about that Grey—can you say more?

Yes. The Grey I met was then more than 600 years old; by their age standard that was still relatively young. In fact the dissidents were basically young Greys. That is a bit like human society: the young are restless, full of passion, and like to put forward views that differ from the rest.

The officer introduced me, saying I would soon join DSD-3, that we would meet often, and that we could get acquainted in advance. At the time I did not know what DSD-3 meant, or why this officer would say I was going to join that organization, but hearing that I would have another chance to see Greys I was very excited. That Grey did not speak; it only typed, and the voice came from the translator: “All right, welcome to TA-D1.” Then it went back to its desk and started work. I did not know what it was doing, but its speed was astonishing—whether moving, writing, or operating that device, it was crisp and efficient. I privately nicknamed it “Sparkplug.”

Colonel, you have mentioned DSD-3 many times. What organization is that?

DSD is short for Dulce Security Division; the 3 stands for the three military departments responsible for special security forces—the U.S. Navy, Army, and Air Force. These people were in fact the Dulce Facility’s security troops.

No Marines?

There were, but they fell under Navy jurisdiction. They all belonged to one proxy command—the Naval Weapons Center at China Lake. The actual Navy belonged under White Sands Missile Range. In any case DSD-3 is just a name; it has nothing to do with the Defense Intelligence Agency’s DSD-3.

White Sands Missile Range: a missile range administered by the U.S. Navy, 8,287 square kilometers, known as the cradle of American missiles. Located in New Mexico.

Can you talk about this organization’s history?

Yes. DSD-3’s history is interesting. It is now one of the most powerful intelligence and security agencies in the world. At first it was just a department under the CIA, with limited authority and few people, so it was chosen to administer the Dulce Facility. But the Department of Defense believed the CIA had Soviet or other hostile spies penetrating it. To avoid leaks they spun the department off and raised its authority. As it developed, DSD-3 in fact became independent of the U.S. institutional system. Their reporting chain is completely anonymous; even insiders like me do not know which senior people are manipulating DSD-3 behind the scenes.

As I understand it, DSD-3 has a very complete secrecy system that is basically unbreakable. Its standing in the global intelligence community is extremely high, but few people know of it. Besides physical protection, DSD-3 is also responsible for manufacturing false intelligence to fool those who try to probe or approach.

Does the president know about DSD-3?

No, unless for some special reason their clearance is raised above “Top Secret – Crypto 17,” in which case they might touch this kind of information. Besides Dulce, military organizations such as Area 51 are also above that classification; what they can access is only information at the black-budget level. Only a few presidents have ever obtained that clearance.

Like the scene in the movie Independence Day?

I have not seen that movie. I don’t know what you mean.

Independence Day: a 1996 science-fiction film set against an alien invasion of Earth.

Never mind. Let’s go on about the Greys. Can you talk specifically about their history?

At first we decrypted part of the tablet contents, then established a channel of communication with them, and only then did we figure out their situation. According to their records, the Progenitors who created them came from the Zeta system, then went to Sirius; after a planetary explosion they moved to Mars in the solar system, lived there a hundred thousand years, and then unfortunately suffered an asteroid impact. The disaster on Mars wiped out most of the Progenitors; the rest could only flee to Earth.

The Progenitors could not adapt to Earth’s atmospheric composition, and the population gradually died out. On the brink of extinction they modified some gene sequences and created the Anu and their servant Greys. The Anu later did something similar and created the Austra.

Grey genes were specially designed. Their reproductive ability is weak, and their genes have innate defects; they must continually use genetic engineering to continue the species. After hybridizing with humans, the Austra’s descendants gradually adapted to the surface environment; in exchange their lifespan was greatly reduced, but they still insisted on continuing their bloodline.

What about the reptilians? In many Dulce legends they are also important characters.

In my days at Dulce I never saw reptilians, nor any similar reptilian creatures. But I did read some material in Grey writings. The Greys had used genetic engineering to implant reptile genes and produced a new population called “Scimitor.” They may have had the features of the reptilians you know about, but according to Grey records that population went extinct long ago because of genetic defects.

Reptilians: a common alien in conspiracy theories, often linked to stories of abducting humans, cannibalism, and an underworld. The most famous urban legend about reptilians is that they can take the form of ordinary humans, that most of the world’s elites are reptilians in disguise, and that their goal is to enslave all humankind.

Can you say more?

They were the product of mixing ordinary Grey genes with reptile genes, with transparent skin covered by a unique pigment layer that to some extent allowed them to become invisible.

Like a chameleon?

Exactly. But the Greys did not need those traits; what they wanted was reptiles’ ability to regulate body temperature, and things did not go as they imagined. Plus many Greys opposed this new population, so later they were disposed of.

Why the opposition?

Because they believed this creature would not submit to Grey control. Having taken in reptile genes, they were stronger and adapted more easily, and they likewise could not live on the surface, so they might threaten the underground Grey population.

Yet according to the dissident Greys, although the original “Scimitor” had gone extinct, the lower-level Greys had been trying to improve their genes. The difficulty was great, because Grey genes and reptile genes differ enormously and are hard to fuse perfectly.

But whatever the legends, I never saw an alien with reptilian features. At least not at Dulce. I do know one thing: from the 1990s on, humanity’s “darker element” cooperated with the lower Greys in the D-3 area on genetic experiments whose purpose was to create an Ultimate-Soldier. The whole program was called Black Bio-Genetic Programs. I do not know whether this new program included reptilian content.

How did you know about the “Scimitor”?

I read DSD-3 internal reports. The military had translated almost all the tablets collected and communicated with the dissident Greys to confirm which Grey types currently existed. Those materials included the “Scimitor,” and that they were already extinct. That is all.

The reason I was interested is that there are too many stories about Dulce and reptilians. Can you talk more about that black genetic program?

Yes. I said earlier that the Greys are a species independently created by the Progenitors and have nothing to do with humans. But the new genetic program that began in the 1990s combines human and Grey genes to create a new alien hybrid. It is an extremely dangerous program and would threaten this world.

When scholars began studying Grey history they noticed a connection linking them to history recorded by humans—for example humanity’s earliest Sumerian civilization, the still more ancient gods recorded by Sumer, and a race of giants said to have submitted to the Greys rather than to the Anu, descendants of the Progenitors, and who were finally destroyed by the Anu’s descendants.

It sounds unreliable, doesn’t it? But archaeologists have indeed found some ancient artifacts that can show Grey history matching ours; it just is not published in academia. The reason I am willing to talk with you is that I have read some of your historical work—your views on ancient civilizations and the influence of alien races on early human civilization, and so on. I believe you have the capacity to accept the truth.

Giant race: a race said in various ancient civilizations’ legends to have existed in remote antiquity. Archaeologists once found huge skeletal remains in France (Giant of Castelnau), estimated at 3.5 meters tall—but the find has not been generally accepted by academia.

You mean my research on human origins?

Yes. That mutual friend of ours shared your work with me. I found that you were trying, through some artifact evidence, to infer that mixing of aliens and humans is a fact, which made me trust your intelligence and your ability to bear it.

If you ask how deep our understanding of Grey history is, I can only say very deep. Many ancient texts record these things, such as the Sanskrit Vedas, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and so on. Yet as technology advanced this history has been thoroughly covered up, because the U.S. government believes the truth would expose Dulce’s secret and harm their interests. In fact it is not aliens controlling us; on the contrary, we are using them. Some scholars tried to uncover the Greys’ secrets in religious history, but they were disposed of. Any secret concerning Dulce is dealt with quickly, even at Forrestal’s level.

Vedas: the earliest stories come from around 2000 BCE, works of the Indus civilization telling how the gods created the world. The content was passed down orally and was not written down until the 15th century.

Dead Sea Scrolls: discovered near the Dead Sea in 1946. Dating suggests the earliest possible composition around 408 BCE; they are the oldest Hebrew Old Testament found so far.

Colonel, do you have Grey tablets in your possession?

Of course not. Those artifacts are all stored in the collections at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

(At this point the colonel was suddenly startled by a noise from outside. He reached behind his chair and drew a pistol. I was startled too. He spent about 30 seconds staring at where he had parked, then said: It’s all right. His vigilance really is strong.)

Besides you, do you know any other Dulce whistleblowers?

Yes. I know two people who to some extent grasped Dulce’s secret: Paul Bennewitz and Phil Schneider. Both of them are dead.

First, Phil Schneider. I have seen his lectures. Most of his Dulce content is fabricated, but I have seen his name, so I know he really was an eyewitness. I don’t know why he lied or exaggerated—perhaps to confuse the DSD-3 people? Or was he himself deceived? I don’t know where Phil’s bad information came from, but he really did spend time at Dulce.

Bennewitz was a true genius. He never actually entered the Dulce Facility; all his intelligence he worked out himself. Precisely because he was too close to the truth, DSD-3 people targeted him and disposed of him. His death was basically caused by human hands.

Let’s talk about Bennewitz first.

All right. As early as 1979 he had come to Dulce, bringing radio equipment, trying to intercept signals locally. His actions angered the lower Greys. You could say the tense situation at the end of 1979 may have had something to do with him.

Later he went further, building a station locally, photographing craft near the facility every day or conducting radio monitoring. At the time DSD-3 was not clear about his actions, but he himself took the initiative to report the anomalies he observed to the Kirtland Security Police and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, AFOSI. Those organizations in fact have deep ties to DSD-3.

AFOSI quietly received the data and photographs Bennewitz had collected and passed them to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. They found the data matched reality very closely, which alarmed Sandia National Laboratories and U.S. Air Force officers, who came to analyze the video and photos he had shot.

There is also a well-known story: a local woman found him and said she and her six-year-old son had sighted a UFO in New Mexico, then fallen unconscious; when they woke four hours had passed, their memories were blurry, and it seemed they had been abducted. He then took the woman for hypnosis; the physician restored her memory. She had been taken to a facility where many cattle were being slaughtered and many bottles and jars were filled with human organs and body parts. She also said something special had been implanted in her skin to monitor her behavior in real time. Then she and her son were put back on the craft and dumped in the desert.

I have not verified this; I can only say it is possible. But Bennewitz believed it completely. He linked this abduction story with UFOs, cattle mutilations, aliens, and nearby U.S. military bases, forming a basic story template that he spread. He keenly spotted the link between U.S. military activity in the area and aliens. On the map, Holloman AFB and White Sands to the south, Kirtland AFB to the east, and finally the Desert High-Terrain of Farmington, Aztec and Dulce to the northwest. The area enclosed by those three zones is Roswell, Socorro, San Antonio, Los Alamos—places closely tied to urban legends of UFO crashes and alien abductions.

The low-frequency electromagnetic receivers Bennewitz built could intercept nearby transmissions. AFSOI and DSD-3 very much wanted to stop him from investigating further and also wanted to confiscate that equipment. AFSOI refused further investigation of Bennewitz’s data on secrecy grounds.

Bennewitz had no choice but to send the report to the Arkansas state legislature and write to several U.S. senators, including John Lear, who billed himself as a well-known UFO investigator. Arkansas sent a man named Bill Moore to liaise with Bennewitz. Bennewitz told him the evidence he had found and his conjecture: he had discovered that at least two groups of aliens were active in an underground facility under the mesa, activity related to an agreement signed with the U.S. government.

Bennewitz’s inference was accurate, but Bill Moore was in fact a spy sent by AFSOI. His mission was to spread false information, disrupt Bennewitz’s investigation, and make him think he had the wrong direction. DSD-3’s mission was threats: anonymous threats demanding he stop probing U.S. national secrets or he would lose his company. That threat was very effective, because his radio company was his life’s work and he did not want to lose it.

Air Force Office of Special Investigations: a federal law-enforcement agency reporting directly to the Secretary of the Air Force, whose function is to proactively identify, investigate, and eliminate serious crime, terrorism, and espionage threats against Air Force, Space Force, and Department of Defense personnel and resources.

Sandia National Laboratories: one of three R&D laboratories under the National Nuclear Security Administration. The main lab is at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico.

Holloman Air Force Base: established in 1942, located in New Mexico.

Farmington, Aztec, Dulce desert highlands: place names in New Mexico.

Roswell, Socorro, San Antonio, Los Alamos: place names in New Mexico, all with UFO sightings or crash events.

John Lear: a well-known U.S. UFO researcher and originator of many conspiracy theories (for example that aliens control human governments).

What is Bill Moore’s story?

He himself stated publicly at the 1989 Mutual UFO Network conference in Las Vegas that he was a member affiliated with AFSOI and had given Bennewitz a great deal of false intelligence and wrong investigative directions. That admission shocked the entire UFO-research community; everyone began to wonder whether colleagues around them were government spies. Bennewitz himself collapsed even more. By then he had basically given up his investigation; after this blow his mind became very unstable. Until he died in 2003 he was plagued by paranoia, depression, and other mental illness, unable to sleep through the night, which eventually affected his physical health.

Most of the Dulce stories you see on the internet actually come from Bennewitz—his story template combining aliens, underground bases, and abductions. He was an excellent investigator.

Mutual UFO Network: a nonprofit headquartered in California, composed of civilian volunteers who study so-called UFO sightings. It is one of the oldest and largest UFO-research organizations in the United States, claiming more than 4,000 members worldwide, with chapters and representatives in more than 43 countries and all 50 states.

All right, I understand Bennewitz’s situation. What about Phil Schneider?

Bennewitz discovered part of the truth through his own investigation, while Phil Schneider was unquestionably an employee who had worked there at the time.

When he started lecturing in 1995 I noticed him at once. At the time I did not remember whether his name was on the Dulce roster, but I could hear details only someone who had been there would know. I did not contact him immediately, because I knew DSD-3 must have noticed him too. If they could confirm Phil was one of them and was leaking so openly, his life was on a countdown.

As everyone knows, his lectures lasted a year. He said a great deal about Dulce secrets, then died. But strangely, on the 1979 clash he was basically talking nonsense.

Why am I sure he was genuine? Because after I arrived at the facility and began the assignment, our team received a complete roster. Before 1979 the number of ordinary staff at Dulce had stayed around 1,500, plus more than 100 DSD-3 soldiers and more than 70 command members. But in the second half of 1979, because relations with the lower Greys were already in a friction stage, command evacuated most employees, leaving only a little over 200 to keep the facility running. That decision kept later casualties from being even greater.

The reason I fully believe Phil Schneider is that his name was on that complete list; I specifically confirmed it. When we did psychiatric evaluations of survivors we had to check every person and confirm their mental state before letting them leave. One hundred twenty people went through our investigation; 72 people on the list were marked dead; the remaining 23 were marked missing, possibly captured by lower Greys in the fighting. Phil’s name was among those 23. The military believed they had been captured because later they thoroughly checked levels 1–3 and found no trace of those 23; the only interpretation was that they had been taken by Greys on still lower levels.

Those 120 survivors rode the maglev back to LANL, while the 72 bodies could not be taken through the tunnel because it would have been too conspicuous; if ordinary LANL employees saw them it would be a major leak. So the bodies were airlifted by helicopter to Kirtland Air Force Base.

What is more surprising is that the local Jicarilla Apache Tribal Police Department and the New Mexico State Police were also notified, because at the exit at the time two officers belonging to those two departments were standing there. I suspect they had signed some secrecy agreement with DSD-3; their job was probably to ensure the transport was not disturbed by other local agencies.

And later I found that DSD-3 never restricted local Native Americans or ranchers. These people would sometimes come to the base entrance out of curiosity and find ventilation shafts, entries, or camouflaged pads. Some even witnessed the moment the doors opened. Of course these locals never leaked the secret to the media; I don’t know how DSD-3 controlled them.

Colonel, can you talk about the tense situation in 1979—what caused it?

I said earlier that through some diplomatic channel we established a relationship: we allowed them to capture animals for genetic research, and they provided us with technological support. In the course of ongoing communication the lower Greys told us they had an “ancient worship.” That worship treated the lower levels as their holy ground and forbade humans from entering below level four. The 1979 clash happened precisely because we entered the fourth level, and they immediately attacked.

Two years after the clash we followed DMZ principles and established a more complete demilitarized zone, then slowly restored relations with the lower Greys with the dissidents’ help.

Why did the military enter the fourth level and break their taboo?

Because they discovered the truth. The lower Greys did not want humans entering the fourth level because of some religious taboo—that was a lie. They simply did not want humans to know what they were doing there.

The lower Greys had long been abducting U.S. residents for their genetic-modification experiments. They have many physiological defects. First, they cannot metabolize in arid environments and must live in humid places. Second, their skin cannot bear direct sunlight, as I said before. Last is their vision: they cannot live in high-illumination environments, so they have always used very dim lighting. They also wanted the “Scimitor” kind of invisibility, provided they would not be burned by the sun.

Grey genetic defects are congenital. The Progenitors never intended them to reproduce widely; they can only maintain the population through genetic engineering, so total numbers have always stayed under ten thousand. They knew they could not compete with surface humans and could only lie low and find ways to obtain high-quality human genes.

But under the agreement signed in the 1950s, abducting humans for research violated the terms, so they had always tried to deceive us and keep humans from setting foot below level four. In 1979 a lower Grey defected to the upper levels and told DSD-3 that large-scale illegal abductions had always been going on below.

That rumor had gone on for many years but had never been confirmed. In fact, from the 1950s on, lower Grey craft began appearing frequently again, and DSD-3 received no notification. The military had always believed the late-1940s radar deterrent was effective and could keep Greys from flying without informing the military. But because DSD-3 was then so small—only a little over 40 people—the lower Greys thought they need not worry about human force yet and should abduct as many humans as possible while they had the chance.

The lower Greys regarded humans as a food source. Like the dissidents, they extracted protein from organs. But they were unwilling to eat mice or other animals, because they believed eating humans had been their tradition for thousands of years. They believed the Progenitors had placed them there to feed on humans as an ancient doctrine, and that switching to mice would be a betrayal of the Progenitors.

What is somewhat ridiculous is that according to the records, when the Progenitors created the Anu and the Greys they already built in genetic defects, but they did not care and kept trying to modify the original genes. The dissidents opposed this worship; they wanted to cooperate with humans, so they ate mice, which of course also met their survival needs.

At the end of 1950 lower Grey abductions intensified to the point of endangering U.S. military safety. In 1956 a sergeant at White Sands Missile Range was abducted by a saucer, then dismembered, his body dumped in the wild; his genitals, eyeballs, and rectum had been removed. Wounds of that precision were usually the Greys’ work. DSD-3 spent a month expanding the force to 70 and, fully prepared for combat, attacked the fourth level directly and fought the lower Greys.

In that 1956 battle 200 Greys were killed, and DSD-3 losses were negligible, because they had not expected a sudden human assault at all. In the fourth-level labs there were more than a dozen human corpses, no survivors, even children among them. After this battle the lower Greys quieted for a year. Later, at the demand of senior U.S. officials, another agreement was reached with the lower Greys: they were allowed to abduct large mammals, such as the cattle everywhere locally, but could no longer abduct humans. The lower Greys agreed.

By the 1970s they started abducting humans again. This time DSD-3 did not intervene. It was not that they were unwilling; by then certain “darker elements” had already appeared inside humanity, as I mentioned. This “darker element” did not regard ordinary people as fellow humans at all, but as a resource that could be traded. As early as the 1970s, matters of missing and abducted humans were all intercepted by AFSOI; they did not share this information with DSD-3, and they described all these cases as rumors from lunatics.

And the large number of cattle mutilations locally also made DSD-3 believe the lower Greys were following the agreement. No one cared about those unlucky ranchers; even if they watched their property carried off by saucers they were labeled mad, because in American social thought at the time believing in UFOs was a kind of infidelity to religion, so public opinion was very unfavorable to the victims.

In 1979, after that Grey told DSD-3 everything, the military decided it had to respond again. They organized a force, stormed the fourth level, and destroyed the Grey laboratories, but failed to rescue the abducted people. After lying low for a few days the lower Greys suddenly counterattacked the human facilities above. Because no one had expected them to attack, staff losses in the facility were heavy; those who died were basically scientists and engineers.

Colonel, I have a doubt: as someone who only read files for a few hours on a plane, haven’t you remembered rather a lot?

Because when we arrived the situation in the facility was extremely urgent. We had to finish the job against the clock. Originally we were to hand the envelopes back to the brigadier general, but I had put one briefing in my briefcase and not back in the envelope. Things were urgent; the brigadier general did not check the envelopes’ contents. I did not hide the material on purpose—it was entirely negligence—so I only discovered I had brought a briefing out after leaving. About three weeks later I received DSD-3’s recruitment, just as that security officer had said, so I did not actively return the file; I left it at the facility when I retired.

What did you do in DSD-3?

The same as before: I served as a psychology and behavioral-science adviser, and as a bridge between command and DSD-3. The post gave me high clearance, letting me access the personnel databases of scientists and DSD-3 people directly. When I retired in 1983 I basically understood the facility’s whole past and present.

Can you talk about your clearance level?

All DSD-3 members enjoy standard DoE L Clearance, while I had higher clearance to access sensitive information. This is a secrecy system developed by the NSA, commonly called “Rhyolite clearance,” used for early communications encryption. Other ordinary employees had to have at least DoE ‘Q’ Clearance. People like Phil Schneider had that level because they were responsible for excavating and transporting special materials, usually provided to us by the Greys.

Department of Energy clearances: a DoE access clearance is an administrative determination that an individual is eligible, when official duties require it, to access classified material or to access or control special nuclear material. Before obtaining it an individual must undergo a federal background investigation and meet eligibility requirements for classified information or matter. Generally there are two types of access, L and Q. For more highly classified information additional or supplementary conditional clearances may be required. People with Q clearance undergo a background investigation every 5 years; those with L clearance every 10 years.

Why disclose these secrets?

Because of conscience. I once thought Dulce’s secret would be made public in 2000; it was not. In 2001 there was a wave of UFO interest; I attended some gatherings then but heard no reliable leaks. Even now (2010) I still have not heard any leak of value.

Since I retired, agents have stayed in contact with me, and through them I have learned what followed at the Dulce Facility. Unfortunately, after the 1990s the “darker element” expanded. Lower Grey abductions were no longer constrained; the shadow government was even very interested in Grey modification of human genes, hoping to use that technology to create so-called super-soldiers. The dissidents willing to cooperate were sent below in exchange for more advanced technological weapons. In other words, the little humanity and morality that existed when the Dulce Facility was founded have pretty much collapsed. Today’s Dulce is nothing but a trading platform for ambitious men and evil aliens.

Although Schneider’s story has many errors, I still supported him, hoping to pass some truth to the public through his channel. In 1995 I met him in Denver. I did not tell him I was a DSD-3 member, because if I had he would never have agreed to see me, but I lied and said I was an FBI agent willing to help him leak. He readily agreed.

You met Phil Schneider privately?

Yes, in August 1995. I contacted him by phone; I wanted a private meeting. He refused, but I tried to persuade him. I said I knew something about Dulce, and that I had no interest in the Val Thor, Philadelphia Experiment, or Al Bielek stories he talked about. Only then did he believe I was also an insider and agreed to meet.

I told him I had worked at the FBI and had also worked at Dulce command. I did not mention DSD-3; I did not want to reveal my military background and make him uneasy. I wanted to help him, to give him more intelligence. After talking a while I found his mental state somewhat unstable, and what he said was so vaporous I could hardly believe he had worked at Dulce—if I had not seen the roster and also found that some details he told were completely true, I really would have thought he was mad. I guessed his poor condition had to do with the blonde woman who was always with him. She had invented an identity, claiming to be a reporter for some radio station. Later I asked a friend inside the CIA to check the identity she claimed; there was no such person.

Phil seemed very nervous. He said someone was trying to shut him up; he was being followed and watched. It took me several days to win his trust. One late night as we left a restaurant after talking, a man came up, demanded to see our IDs, and claimed to be a CIA employee. I did not believe him at all; then the man drew a gun to shoot us. I was ready, shot him down, and only then did Phil Schneider fully believe I was a Dulce whistleblower like him. He said he was willing to work with me long-term on leaking. The CIA matter was completely covered up; there was no reporting. I realized then that I too was in danger, so I put my attention on changing identity. Not long after, Phil was dead as well.

Val Thor: Phil Schneider claimed this person is a Venusian currently serving as Venus’s ambassador to the United States.

Philadelphia Experiment: a well-known urban legend claiming the U.S. Navy conducted a secret experiment in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 28, 1943, making the destroyer Eldridge optically invisible. After the experiment the ship instantly moved 600 kilometers to Virginia. In reality the Eldridge was escorting in the Atlantic at the time and never reached Philadelphia. The story comes from a 1955 science-fiction novel by an American writer named Morris, The Case for the UFO: Unidentified Flying Objects.

Al Bielek: an American writer who produced many conspiracy works on the Philadelphia Experiment.

Colonel, aren’t you afraid of being killed, leaking this much now?

My life has completely changed. I have a new name, a new face, a new life. My work at Dulce was not meaningless; some senior government people were willing to help me live under a new identity. I have changed identities many times to ensure they are absolutely safe. My family does not know my real past; they think I was an orphan from childhood, and that the couple who adopted me were European immigrants—of course all of that is false too.

Our mutual friend is the same. We whistleblowers form a small circle. We know how to protect ourselves: never trust anyone. I can leak Dulce matters to you freely; even if someone finds the identity I had when I first enlisted, it would be hard to trace me now.

So Phil was killed, then?

Of course. Anyone with judgment knows his death could not have been suicide. When he said his clearance was Q within Rhyolite, DSD-3 had already located him. His death was not because of leaking; it was because he should not have existed in the world.

For Dulce contractors, “Rhyolite 38, Level 3” is a very reasonable security grade. When that information fed back to DSD-3 they would check the 1979 personnel list and confirm Phil was one of the “missing.” That is actually a huge mystery. When I communicated with him he could not clearly explain 1979 either; he insisted he had been wounded while excavating and then sent to a hospital. I don’t know where those memories came from, but they do not match what actually happened then. In fact I think DSD-3 never figured out how he came back from the dead, because at the time those missing people had probably been dragged deeper by the lower Greys and disposed of. Even if he had escaped the Greys’ clutches he could not have left the Dulce Facility directly, because it was sealed for a period then.

If he had truly escaped, he should have gone to DSD-3 or his employer for help at once. Those agencies would not have killed him to silence him; they would have protected him. But he did not. He vanished for more than a decade, then suddenly came out leaking. Why? So I guess the Greys let him go, but I cannot understand why.

Later I established that the blonde woman who always followed him was indeed a DSD-3 agent, though she joined in the 1990s, so the two of us did not know each other. And my contact with Phil did not draw DSD-3’s attention, because my friend helped me cover it up.

Some people online now think Phil Schneider was lying about “Rhyolite clearance.” I must clarify: this is one of the few truths he told, and it was this detail that drew DSD-3’s notice. Only people who had worked at Dulce would recognize it, because this clearance was set up for geological engineers like them. These contractors’ employees all worked under the ECHO (the “Enhanced Communications and High-traffic Observation System) system developed by DSD-3.

ECHO—can you go into detail?

DSD-3 uses this system to monitor all telephone, radio, fax, and network communications. It is a complex surveillance system developed by the NSA that can intercept all sensitive information to ensure no leaks. The system has been rolled out to many underground bases, including Pine Gap Joint Defense Space Research Facility, Raven Rock, Mount Weather, PARI, Mount Pony, Manzano, China Lake, Groom Lake, Tehachapi. And secrecy grades such as “Rhyolite” are also a part of this NSA system.

The Level 3 Schneider mentioned meant he could enter levels one through three. Their work entering the third level was usually to receive special materials provided by the lower Greys.

Groom Lake: that is, the well-known Area 51.

Can you talk about what geologists like Schneider mainly did?

There are some special rocks and metals there, said to date from the Progenitor period. They can be used to synthesize many advanced materials. We cannot master those synthesis processes; the lower Greys control them and only give us finished products. For example, they provided a special alloy that can be used in stealth design for fighter aircraft. Phil Schneider displayed those materials, claiming they were some element 140; in fact they were just alloy materials provided by the Greys. I don’t know how he got them out.

Besides minerals, excavation was also their work, because of the nuclear reactors; that digging had to be guaranteed not to create safety problems. I think you can understand.

Colonel, I have another question. There is an exaggerated claim on the internet that Dulce is a place controlled by reptilians and Greys, that they abduct large numbers of humans for experiments or food. Is that incorrect?

I have seen those stories. They contain real situations, such as abduction and cannibalism, but the degree has clearly been exaggerated many times over. Personally I think versions of that story come from DSD-3 or AFOSI, deliberately written to be bizarre and tied to reptilians so skeptics can easily knock them down. The people spreading them online have become their helpers, because the more common sense a person has, the less they will believe those exaggerated tales. AFOSI is only too pleased; they can brand all these UFO-sighting stories as conspiracy theories or a madman’s ravings. Shameful.

Do you think tying Dulce to reptilians is a conspiracy?

I don’t know whether the original story was some kind of joke or a grab for attention. What angers me is that these stories have been twisted by some people in a strange direction. The Dulce story is a very serious, very objective fact, but some people insist on forcing reptilians, the Illuminati, or some odd religious domain onto it. Those things have nothing to do with the truth. The truth is that the U.S. military continually trades with the Greys for their technology, while the Greys try to rely on humans to continue their species. There are no reptilians, no strange religions. I never saw any reptilian at Dulce. Even if there were, I don’t think the Greys would have contact with them, because from what I observed the Greys are in fact a highly isolated people; they don’t even trust their own kind much, let alone reptilians.

(I could see the colonel was very agitated. He seemed quite unhappy about these urban legends. I decided to change the subject.)

Colonel, how much do you know about cattle mutilations?

These things were initially tacitly allowed by the military for the Greys, but the military would collect the cattle remains to confirm how those neat wounds were made. In addition, the technology of craft taking animals away by gravitational waves drove the U.S. military wild; they urgently wanted it. Most U.S. stealth fighters now use Grey saucer-material technology to some degree; that is one of the gains.

When the Greys abducted cattle, the military would send people to watch nearby—how they selected cows, sucked them up with the craft, then dumped the corpses. Once they left, the military would enter the scene at once. I took part in one on-site investigation. There was a foul chemical smell there that almost made you faint. The smell would keep all animals away; animals that could not flee in time would be poisoned to death on the spot.

They were basically interested only in specific organs of the animals, cut neatly with lasers, usually glandular organs and reproductive organs. There would be no blood left at the scene; I don’t know exactly how that was done. As the influence of the “darker element” deepened, Grey abductions of cattle grew fewer, and in their place the military began abducting animals, even humans.

By 1992 the military had initially mastered gravitational-wave technology. They could not wait to use it to abduct humans. According to my intelligence, Greys personally abducting is now actually less common than before, because the military itself is doing this dirty work. I heard they took 50 people in a month. Those people’s fate is easy to imagine; they would be no better off than lab mice. That is also why I have to leak this no matter what.

(When the subject of abducting humans came up, the colonel grew emotional again, and I had to change the subject once more.)

Cattle mutilations: mysterious events in desert regions of the western United States in the 1970s and 1980s. Local cattle died in large numbers from unknown causes, with eyes, udders, and tongues neatly cut away; local farmers also sighted strange lights and mysterious craft. After the FBI investigated, it concluded the abnormal carcasses were simply the work of local predators and scavengers.

Understood. May I ask a few other questions? Could you describe the facility’s internal structure? The so-called seven-level structure online seems inaccurate?

Level 1 consists of four areas. The first is a huge garage for storing the Humvee multi-purpose trucks I mentioned earlier.

Adjacent to that area is a warehouse/hangar, very large and empty most of the time, with a set of hangar doors about 60 feet (18 m) wide and 30 feet (9 m) high. The only equipment in the hangar is six armed helicopters: two AH-1G Huey Cobras, two UH-1 Iroquois, and two Sioux Scouts. These aircraft’s job is regular patrol; residents near Dulce often see them. According to my sources, in recent years they replaced the Cobras with AH-64D Apache Longbows, and the Iroquois and Sioux with unmanned aircraft.

Then there is the Grey living area, the place I mentioned where I first saw a Grey. The Greys’ living quarters need specially installed corridors, characterized by high temperature, high humidity, and very low lighting, which matches the Greys’ habits.

Then there is the human activity area. Command and DSD-3 headquarters are both on level 1. There is also a visitor-processing center on level 1. These are offices. Level 1 has two dedicated elevators that can descend to the maglev transport hub on level 3.

The room layout on level 2 is a lot like level 1, but it mainly provides living quarters for people living in the Dulce Facility. In addition the core database is kept on level 2, for ECHO and command. There are also many science labs, used mainly by contractor employees. The human cafeteria is also on level 2—a cafeteria, coffee bar, salad bar, no different from cafeterias outside. There is a small supermarket providing basic daily goods. Besides that there is a medical room for treating trauma from accidents or mental stress. There is a gym with a swimming pool, even a steam room. The purpose of these facilities is to soothe people who work long hours in the caves and keep their physical and mental health up.

Level 3 is the most mysterious level in the whole Dulce Facility. There is a corridor there called the Maximum Containment Corridor, MCC, nicknamed Nightmare Corridor. Similar to Area 51’s practice of incinerating toxic pollutants in burn pits, the Dulce Facility also periodically incinerates by-products of genetic engineering, bioengineering, and chemical production, including various bacterial and viral samples and animal carcasses used in experiments. Access clearance for this area is very high; only a few people can enter.

Inside the MCC there is a sturdy high-temperature-resistant glass sealed chamber for the final disposal of large targets. There are also class four biocontainment cabinets for handling dangerous bacteria and viruses. When the Leandro Canyon TA-D3 facility was completed, a new Black Bio-Genetic Program began, aimed at producing formidable ultimate soldiers through human/Grey or human/animal gene mixing.

In 1993 this program met with a huge setback. An experiment had an accident; about 20 people were killed, mostly geneticists and biologists. What killed them were two super-soldier specimens that suddenly went berserk, killed, and fled on the train being taken back to D-1’s level 3, because they had a mental collapse, tore the victims’ limbs from their bodies, then hollowed out their viscera. The two specimens were later contained by DSD-3 troops and taken to the MCC to be incinerated.

After this incident the Dulce Facility was closed again; all non-military personnel were sent back, and it did not resume operations until two weeks later. These two failed specimens were said to have been made using modification data provided by the Greys. They had immense strength, but their minds were completely unlike humans, which was also why they failed.

When I received news of this I asked myself, “What is the point of these super-soldiers?”

Our country has the SEALs, Green Berets, TACP, Rangers—so many excellent soldiers. Why still develop these non-human killing machines? Who exactly do they want to deal with? My sources said that because of infiltration by humanity’s “darker element,” the experimental tendency inside Dulce had already turned toward humans, and seemingly insane experiments were becoming more and more accepted.

On level 3 there are two dedicated areas for interacting with Greys below level four, called XFER1 and XFER2. Special elevators are also used here for trading and transporting some materials. Besides this area there are several dedicated conference rooms, a cryogenic lab, and DSD-3’s data center. There is also a dedicated prison for Greys who defect from below; there they are interrogated, and only after it is confirmed they pose no threat to humans are they sent to the living area on level 1.

Biological safety cabinets: enclosed work areas with ventilation hoods designed to protect laboratory personnel and the environment from pathogenic microorganisms, classified in protection levels 1–4. Level 4 is the highest.

What about the maglev trains you mentioned earlier?

Part of level 3 is a maglev hub. The station is far from the MCC and XFER, so there is no worry that contractor employees will discover secrets. The station is very clean; all Dulce employees have access because it is far from classified work. The hub runs around the clock; the busiest times are the 5:00 a.m. inbound and 5:00 p.m. outbound shuttles. Six maglev trains are in operation. The company that originally contracted with DOE was Bechtel; they also built the original railway. Later, once maglev technology existed, the operator changed to General Dynamics Corporation, and the contract was signed between them and DOE. According to my informant, the six lines currently operating are as follows:

Line A1—to and from LANL’s TA-3 area.

Line A2—to and from Kirtland Air Force Base and Cannon Air Force Base

Line A3—to and from White Sands, Holloman Air Force Base

Line B1—to and from Area 51, Groom Lake

Line C1—to and from the Naval Weapons Center at China Lake

Line C2—to Edwards Air Force Base

Edwards is the hub of the entire underground maglev network, linking major underground facilities across the southern, southeastern, midwestern, and eastern United States. Most important is its connection to Naval Base San Diego.

General Dynamics: a defense group that works with the U.S. Department of Defense.

Naval Base San Diego: the largest naval base on the U.S. West Coast and one of the main home ports of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.

Colonel, have you heard the story of Thomas Edwin Castello? How do you evaluate this person?

Yes, I have read it online. Unfortunately the story is not true, and this Castello person is not real either.

He claimed to have been a security guard working at the Dulce Facility before 1979, but I have read all the personnel files, including DSD-3, command, and all kinds of contractor employees, so I know Phil Schneider was real, but this man named Castello does not exist.

To confirm him I even had FBI agents investigate, including his family, wife, and son—none of these people exist. I searched for the name in National Archives and Social Security databases with no result; I also searched U.S. military personnel databases, still nothing. What is odd is that I did locate a Thomas E. Castello, in Roswell, an amateur radio operator—yes, in Roswell. At first I thought I had found the real person, but this man’s age completely failed to match the Castello online, and there was no evidence he had ever been to Dulce. I suspect the storyteller borrowed his name.

I also found some people named thomas castelllo in Glen Ellyn and Wheaton, Illinois; either the middle name was wrong or the age still did not match. So the Castello in that story does not exist in reality, at least I cannot find him.

Castello: for his story see the article “The Dulce War Decoded—A Life-and-Death Duel Between Humans and Aliens.” Before UFO investigator Tal Levesque died in 2018 he emailed the debunker Norio Hayakawa admitting that the Thomas Castello story was a dark fairy tale he had invented.

Wow, that will make many people who believe in Dulce uneasy, because they think Castello and his story are true.

Unfortunately I cannot tell you he is real, because I truly found no evidence. It is like the Austra: you ask me whether they are members of the Illuminati, and I can only tell you I don’t know, because I have no evidence. I can tell you only what I know.

About the Austra, you mentioned they wanted to wipe out the Greys. Why?

According to Grey records, after the struggle against the Austra failed they were driven underground. The Austra told the Greys this environment suited their survival; they could reproduce there without conflicting with the Austra on the surface. At that time North America had ample plants and animals and primitive humans; the Greys could find food there and genetically modify themselves to improve environmental adaptation. There were also many mineral resources in the caves that could provide the Greys with energy.

Forgive me for interrupting: what is Grey energy technology like?

I don’t know. It is a mystery. They refuse to reveal technical details of that to us. For the military, small nuclear devices are enough to keep the facility running, so they have not particularly cared about that technology.

All right, please continue.

But later the Greys discovered this was an attempt at genocide, because they found that some of their genetic defects could not be corrected and could not be made up with human or animal genes. Moreover, because of the rapid development of surface humans, the Greys could never return to the surface. They realized humans’ hostility toward them and the brutal nature humans displayed.

So the Austra in fact hoped to exterminate the Greys to remove a hidden danger left from ancient times. They did not want humans to know these ancient stories, or it would harm their enslavement of humans. After years of mixing, people with Austra blood are no different from ordinary humans; some mixed-blood even no longer know the story of their lineage. But some mixed-blood still use bloodline as a barrier, forming a ruling-class group that enslaves this world.

So the Greys are actually pitiable victims?

No. The lower Greys follow the same doctrine as the Austra. Both are creations of the Progenitors and regard humans as beings beneath them. Their problem is that Earth humans’ strength in survival and reproduction means they cannot confront humans. Now the Grey population is on the brink of extinction, while Austra blood is growing thinner and thinner.

The story in summary is this: after the Progenitors came to Earth they found the original genes could not adapt, so they modified the Anu as the new masters, plus servant Greys; then the Anu created the Austra, and the original Austra likewise could not maintain the population and could only choose to blend into humanity.

The original Austra were completely different from humans: gray-white skin, tall stature, pupils of many colors. Their skeletal structure was unlike ours too; their eyes were large, with no sclera, only a row of colored irises and transparent pupils, like a pool of clear reflective liquid.

Is there any evidence?

If you want physical evidence, sorry, I don’t have it either. This material is all recorded on Grey tablets. Austra pupil colors were many, including purple, gray, green, and light brown; the most common colors were brown and blue. That is completely different from early humans with a very obvious sclera (the white of the eye).

Then these genetic traits were left in the mix of Austra Albus and humans, which is us as we currently are. The Austra also modified primitive humans’ intelligence, including the cerebral cortex, so they could master language, mathematics, and primitive technology. The Austra were worshipped as gods by these primitive humans, but they did not expect that later human development would reach such a height that the Austra would have to blend into human society.

Why did Austra technology from ancient times not come down to us?

Natural disasters about 13,000 years ago caused mass extinctions of species; the Austra also suffered severe losses, and many of their technological products sank into the sea or were covered by soil. The Austra did not want humans or their mixed descendants to master these technologies, so they chose to seal the advanced tech away until they perished. I have heard some prehistoric technological products were hidden by the Austra in Antarctica, but I cannot yet confirm that.

All right, then why would our government, knowing the truth, tolerate these aliens’ existence?

If you mean the Austra enslaving humans, that is not strange. Because our government is essentially a puppet of the Austra. The United States does not really have a two-party system; all politicians fall into only two kinds: those influenced by the Austra and those not. This penetration has existed from the beginning of human history. As I understand it, many other countries’ governments are the same; the ruling class has always had more or less connection with the Austra, only no media dares expose this truth.

As for the Greys, they were originally under human control, but as cooperation deepened the government became more and more without bottom lines. As I understand it, at the Dulce Facility now, human geneticists are trying to restore the “Scimitor,” one of the Grey subspecies I mentioned. They are trying to obtain these creatures’ complete genetic sequences from the Greys. That is the work they are interested in: large amounts of improved testosterone and steroid injections plus extracellular matrices for rapid healing; genetic brain reconstruction of the frontotemporal lobes for rapid recall and ultrafast mental computation; deep brain stimulation allowing selected brain regions to be turned on or off, thus raising attention and greater brain utilization; brain plasticity enabling the brain to grow and adapt… even neural regrowth, growing new cells.

They try these experiments on ordinary people, and they continue even now. The Greys treat humans like livestock, but the “darker element” among human leadership likes these things; they like Grey experiments, and they even try to manufacture some enemies—terrorists, for example—to persuade higher-ups that these evils are necessary. From the 1970s on, many among the leadership had already been influenced into changing their attitude, beginning to allow these evil experiments, even taking part themselves. So the 1979 clash was in fact a watershed; after that the military no longer considered stopping Grey experiments but turned to supporting them.

Where are the tablets that recorded the secrets now?

Everything is deep in the basement under Wright-Patterson Air Force Base; permanently preserved. By the 1980s this material had already been sealed, kept by the shadow government. The last person who truly read the contents was an Assyriologist, Taha Baqir.

Taha Baqir: a famous Iraqi archaeologist, fluent in Akkadian and Sumerian written in cuneiform. He died of illness in 1984.

And then they were sealed?

Yes. I have not heard of them being unsealed again, unless some bottleneck is met in excavating Grey technology, in which case they might open them to look, but there is currently no such news.

Colonel, do you know Richard Sauder, Dennis Balthaser, Norio Hayakawa? These people also study U.S. underground bases.

I know these people’s work, because from 2000 on I often attended Dulce-related UFO research meetings; I have seen these people present their material. I have also seen DSD-3 agents at those places.

Richard Sauder: an American architect who has published several books on secret U.S. underground bases.

Dennis Balthaser: an American UFO researcher focused on Roswell and New Mexico aliens.

Norio Hayakawa: a Japanese American focused on UFO topics in the U.S. Southwest, a well-known urban-legend debunker.

What?

Yes, their helicopters. I know DSD-3 people keep monitoring these whistleblowers. So they fly helicopters over to scan vehicles of people attending the meetings. I can confirm AFSOI undercover agents were on site listening and recording, and some scientists from LANL; I have seen these people, but they no longer recognize me.

What about John Lear?

I cannot evaluate this man. He is addicted to stories like Castello’s and cannot pull himself out. I would not say he is deliberately lying to deceive people, but he is indeed spreading some wrong things. I saw him as far back as when he was still at the CIA. He is an honest man, but too ready to believe false information. In 1987 he came to Dulce to interview, contacting many people who claimed to be involved; those people did not tell him the truth. He came into a great deal of information but had no ability to tell true from false.

Now John Lear is focused on the Moon. What do you think?

I don’t know the reason, but I guess it may have to do with alien lunar bases. Those are ruins built by the Progenitors, but they did not stay on the Moon long, so they were all abandoned.

I once had contact with a NASA official. He was very interested in our whistleblower group and became one of our channels for NASA information. It was also he who told us that Project Horizon’s true purpose was not to have humans migrate to the Moon, but to find that abandoned base and see what could be used. Why is NASA now more focused on Mars? Because that is a cover; the U.S. government is more interested in the Moon.

You can look at NASA’s publicly released photos of the lunar surface; there are always gaps. How could our imaging equipment miss those places? They have simply been covered up by people.

Of course Mars also has traces the Progenitors left that year, but it is farther away, and NASA cannot send astronauts there. You should know Buzz Aldrin told the world on a C-SPAN broadcast that there is a huge black stone remnant (monolith) on Mars’s moon, like the one in 2001: A Space Odyssey. People treated this as a conspiracy theory or a stunt; in fact it is only one of the ruins the Progenitors left. NASA claims it is just something formed naturally.

You should also know NASA long ago canceled the lunar-landing program because they do not want people from other countries exploring the Moon, so they pretend not to be interested. You can visit NASA Technical Report R277 “Chronological Catalog of Reported Lunar Events”; there are quite a few records. This file was only made public last year (2009), recording strange phenomena observed on the Moon from 1540 to 1966, many related to traces aliens once left on the Moon.

Buzz Aldrin: Apollo 11 lunar astronaut, also the second person to set foot on the Moon (the first was Neil Armstrong). In 2009 he proposed that there is a huge artificial stone block about 90 meters high on Phobos. NASA denied this, claiming that uniquely shaped rock is not an artifact but formed naturally.

Do you know William Cooper (William Cooper)?

I know, but this person has nothing to do with Dulce. He seems to have some understanding of the shadow government, but he seems more keen on performing, using a lot of flashy gimmicks to attract an audience. That is the same as John Lear: they become overly addicted to stories they hear instead of spending time verifying whether they are true.

William Cooper: a well-known American conspiracy theorist who founded a radio station devoted to broadcasting conspiracy programs, attracting listeners with sensational stories.

I have to ask once more, because this question is very important to many readers: you really don’t know that Castello who wrote the 1979 Dulce War, or any author under another name?

I truly don’t know who wrote it, and I have not found the author. But this Dulce reptilian story is indeed very attractive. I can understand, because AFOSI and DSD-3 people like it too; I have reason to suspect people from those agencies created the story.

Because these stories contain a small portion of real situations, but replace all the key information with exaggerated literary invention. For the AFOSI people, they welcome such stories very much and hope the public will spread them, because they can be easily falsified, then used to dismiss researchers who really have found something.

What I can tell you is that this Castello never existed, and this story about reptilians is also false. What does exist is an underground facility discovered in 1940, with some Greys inside, in a relationship of cooperation or struggle with humans. I am not denying the reptilian claim, but there have never been such creatures in the Dulce Facility—at least I have never seen or heard of them.

Colonel, if the Greys possess technology far more advanced than humans, and their survival on Earth is so hard, why don’t they go to other planets? You mentioned alien bases on the Moon—why don’t they go to the Moon?

Oh, Anthony, where do you think they can go? Let me tell you in the simplest, bluntest words: they have nowhere to go. Remember what I said? Their genetic system is defective, made so by the Progenitors. They were created in the first place to serve the Anu on Earth, not for space travel. Their ability to adapt to environments is far worse than humans’, so neither the Moon nor Mars can they survive on.

So Dulce is in fact their homeland—at least after tens of thousands of years of living, yes. Their population is sparse and they have formed stubborn cognitions. All their genetic engineering is not to leave Dulce and explore the universe, but to adapt better to Earth’s environment and continue the species better. So even though humans’ technology lags far behind, they can still constrain the Greys, and the Greys know that.

Colonel, people will not believe this interview of ours. Do you have any way to prove it?

I cannot prove the Greys; they will not appear in public. But proving the Dulce Facility is easy. The ranchers and Native Americans next to the base entrance have witnessed the entrance opening and closing countless times; you can go investigate on the ground. And the saucers and helicopters I mentioned—they have seen quite a few of those too. In August 2002 an astronomy observation group from a New Mexico university witnessed the base entrance open; they were warned by military people. You can look these people up; they will tell you the truth. You can also ask people who have been abducted in the Four Corners area; their experiences are all true.

Your trust matters more to me than the public’s. The reason I stay anonymous is that I do not want to be killed like Phil Schneider, and I even less want my family harmed. You know our mutual friend; you know his character, and I have told you about our shared circle. I passed your polygraph; I have no need to deceive you. The problem now is that false information is everywhere. I know what those behind it intend. I only hope you can believe me and tell the public what I have said, even if only some people know the truth—that is enough for me. As for the skeptics, I will not put myself in danger just to shut them up.

All right, thank you for your answers.

(I thought the interview was over. The colonel did not look happy. He put out his last cigarette, walked out of the room, then brought back several photographs. I examined these photos up close for an hour, but he would not allow me to photograph or scan them; I could only try to record them from memory and notes. Later I hired a 3D modeler in Northern California to help me reconstruct the approximate scenes.)

Before I go, I want to show you something. I took these with a Polaroid fixed-focus camera in October 1983, in the period just before I retired. This is the evidence I have; you are the only person in 30 years who has seen it.

The first photo is a Grey weapon. This thing feels like some kind of organism; there is no trigger. Its energy source is a mystery. It can cause explosions, melting any target, including a human body.

This weapon’s energy can last for decades; I don’t know the technical details. There are lights on the grip that indicate status—ultra-low blue light means low energy, unable to fire; high fluorescent brightness means energy is plentiful and it can fire.

I have used this kind of weapon, but using them requires a long period of training. The weapon has to be driven by the user’s consciousness: for example if I think of flame, it fires a ray that causes explosive damage. In 1979 those dissident Greys relied on this weapon to hold off the lower Greys’ first wave, letting our more than 100 scientists escape with their lives.

The second photo is the security panels of D-1 and D-2, as I said. I never actually went to D-3, but I estimate it is not far off. The glass pane in the middle splits the two spaces: the left is for Greys, the right for humans, because their skin is strongly magnetic. The Grey side is marked with their cuneiform. For authentication you have to follow the order of swipe (barcode)—facial recognition—voice recognition; otherwise DSD-3 monitors receive an alert and confirm over the intercom whether you need help.

The third photo is the hangar on D-1 level 1. What is used inside is basically Grey technology, and what is parked are their craft. They feel like glass but are actually some metal alloy. When the craft is powered it distorts the surrounding gravitational field, but it does not seem to have much effect on humans. What is strange is that unlike the humid, high-temperature environment they live in, it is extremely cold here, 36°F (2°C), because when a saucer starts it produces extremely high heat and needs low temperature to cool the affected metal materials.

The last photo is one of the corridors on level 3. The corridor design is completely the same; each has a long stretch. Along the walls you find structured, uniform patterns. The black parts are some kind of rock, but they have liquid and luminous properties; if you press your hand on them you leave a glowing handprint that lasts a while. The recessed places are light sources, mainly fluorescent. The floor is the same as in the hangar, metal with a glass feel, polished like a mirror.

These are all my photos. I dared not take more, because I was afraid someone would notice the Polaroid film count was wrong. I put it back in the office-supplies area, hoping no one would notice it had been used.

(The interview ended with that. What disappointed me was that before leaving he told me that once our interview transcript was made public, I would never see or hear from him again. After this book was published I did try to contact him, but there was no word. Although it is a pity, I understand the effort he made to ensure his own safety.)
