The Real Government Files

📖 Hidden Truth: Otherworldly Files the Government Will Not Release

Ever since alien life and paranormal phenomena were brought within the scope of investigation, the official response to anything treated as “otherworldly” or unexplained has been a matter of record: denial. That is not because the government has no interest in UFOs, monsters, or telepathy, but because it has its own hidden agenda for putting that knowledge to use.

In this deeply investigated compilation of conspiracies and cover-ups, astonishing findings once recorded by the governments of the United States, Britain, and the former Soviet Union (and supposedly debunked) are at last made public, including:

The U.S. Air Force’s attempt to build a fleet of nuclear-powered flying saucers…

British military files on the Loch Ness Monster and other mysterious creatures…

The Cold War race between the CIA and the KGB to develop the perfect psychic spy/assassin…

The true story behind the mysterious “Men in Black”—they intimidated UFO witnesses into silence…

For anyone hungry to know the truth—or the truth behind the truth—Hidden Truth is the ultimate resource for understanding what the government does not want us to know, and why it wants to keep us in the dark.

Publishers Weekly review

Redfern and Roberts are both veteran writers on UFOs and the paranormal. Researching this real-life X-Files, they state plainly: “The nature of intelligence work requires intelligence agencies to obtain any information that could affect national security.” It is therefore no surprise that “files on the ‘unknown’ have been created and studied at the official level.” From the files of the governments of the United States, Britain, and the former Soviet Union, the two authors dig out material on alien visitation, the use of psychic spies, and other strange subjects. The United States, for example, used local vampire legends in the Philippines as part of a psychological-warfare project. The authors also discuss reports that the British government held secret ministerial meetings to consider the mysterious crop circles that began appearing in the 1980s. They explore the possibility that some alleged UFO sightings were in fact highly advanced secret technology the U.S. government was testing. For fans of The X-Files and skeptics of government, this is a trove of entertaining stories. (May 27, 2003) Copyright Reed Business Information.

Loren Coleman review

Redfern and Roberts have carefully gathered material from official intelligence files on cryptozoology, ufology, and other mysteries. For ordinary readers unfamiliar with the intelligence community’s interest in these unsolved puzzles, the book is an illuminating, searching look at the subject. Readers already well versed in a wide range of unexplained phenomena may be disappointed if they judge it by “novelty”—but that is not the authors’ aim. Ordinary readers will be curious about the texture of the material that truly caught the government’s interest, and this book reviews the evidence that spies, agents, and bureaucrats really were troubled by it. The style is also easy to read.

David Grupe review
