Russia’s USO Secrets

Soviet secret files: secret underwater alien races and Russia’s struggle in the deep sea

The Russian Navy has officially declassified records of encounters with unidentified objects during the Soviet period. The reports go back to the Soviet era: files collected and archived by a special naval intelligence agency on incidents of unknown cause involving submarines and warships in service. Those reports describe craft that, in technology, surpass anything humans have ever built.

Documents shown by Nikolai Smirnov, the deputy commander of the navy who headed the agency, reveal countless encounters with unidentified flying objects. Vladimir Azhazha, a former naval officer and a well-known Russian UFO researcher, says the material is of great value. “Fifty percent of UFO encounters are connected with the ocean. Fifteen percent are lakes. So UFOs tend to have a very great deal to do with water.” He said that once, a nuclear submarine on a combat mission in the Pacific detected six unidentified objects. After the crew maneuvered without reservation to pursue them, the captain ordered the boat to surface. The unidentified objects leapt from the water into the air and flew away. Retired submarine commander Rear Admiral Yuri Beketov said many mysterious events have occurred in the Bermuda Triangle. Instruments failed, or detected strong interference, for no obvious reason. The former naval officer said these may have been unidentified flying objects deliberately causing trouble. Vladimir Kremlev told RT: “On many occasions we tracked unidentified flying objects with instruments, moving at incredible speed. The calculations showed a speed of about 230 nautical miles, or 400 kilometers per hour. A speed that high is an extreme challenge even above the surface. But the unidentified objects are clearly far more waterproof, and they simply ignore the laws of physics.” There is only one explanation. “The technology of their builders is far ahead of ours,” said Beketov, a veteran of naval intelligence. Igor Barklay told us: “The places where ocean UFOs appear in relative concentration are where our fleets, or NATO’s, are operating. Near the Bahamas, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico. They are often seen in the deepest part of the Atlantic, south of the Bermuda Triangle, and at the same time in the Caribbean.” Another place where UFOs are often encountered is Russia’s Lake Baikal, the deepest body of fresh water in the world. Fishermen report powerful lights and objects flying up out of the deepest water. In one case in 1982, a group of military divers training in Lake Baikal found a group of humanoid beings dressed in silver-white suits. The encounter happened at a depth of 50 meters. The divers tried to pursue the strangers underwater. The incident left 37 people dead and another 4 seriously injured. “I have thought about underwater bases. Why not? Nothing should be ruled out,” said Vladimir Azhazha. “Skepticism is the easiest path: believe nothing, and do nothing. People rarely inquire into mysterious depths. This matter is very important, and their encounters need to be investigated in concrete terms.” Meanwhile, Russian Navy officials have denied that any collection of UFO-related encounters exists. Personnel serving in the navy say such stories may have been compiled from ship commanders’ reports, that the locations are not described very clearly, and that large shoals of fish, floating debris, or natural phenomena may have created the illusion of a UFO encounter.
