🔍 Event details
On the evening of January 23, 1974, the Berwyn Mountains in northern Wales experienceda magnitude 3.5 earthquake, and at the same time there was a huge roar and a bright luminous body in the sky. Local residents reported seeing“green and orange lights”streak across the sky and then fall onto the mountain. The military quickly sealed off the area.
Unlike the official explanation (earthquake plus meteorite), some researchers believe this may have beena UFO crash—because the scale of the military response far exceeded what an ordinary earthquake or meteorite would draw. Some people claimed to have seen military trucks on the mountain hauling an unidentified object. Butno physical fragments or official documents have been made publicto confirm a UFO crash. In Britain the incident is known as“the Welsh Roswell”。
