The Hynek UFO Report

📖 The Hynek UFO Report

The UFO phenomenon has lately leapt from folklore back into the news—when a cult claimed that a UFO was following Comet Hale-Bopp. Written by the world’s leading authority, first published in 1977 and recently reissued, this report distills 12,000 “sightings” and 140,000 pages of Project Blue Book “evidence” into a clear interpretation. A UFO skeptic funded for years by the U.S. Air Force, Hynek completely changed his position in the late 1960s. Whether you believe in little green men or think the government has an official policy of concealment, The Hynek UFO Report is required reading if you want to make up your own mind.

• Could every eyewitness report be a fantasy?
• Are we the victims of a collective hallucination, or merely deceived by barefaced lies?
• Did close encounters really happen?
• Is the government hiding an earth-shaking secret at some concealed base?
This book reveals the answers to at least part of the mystery… and offers informed speculation on the other questions. UFO expert Jacques Vallée wrote the foreword to the new edition.

A 31-year-old teacher from North Carolina comments:
A “must-read” for UFO enthusiasts
This is the best summary of Project Blue Book I have read. In my view it is Dr. Hynek’s finest and most persuasive book—he makes a powerful case that the UFO phenomenon should be taken seriously, and that not every UFO report can be dismissed as a weather balloon, a star, or a hoax.
