Edgar Mitchell
Former U.S. astronaut Edgar Mitchell was the lunar module pilot of Apollo 14 and spent nine hours working on the lunar surface, making him the sixth person to walk on the Moon. After retiring from NASA in 1972, Mitchell devoted himself to studying the relationship between science and mysticism until his death in 2016.

As a former NASA astronaut, Mitchell drew much wider attention for his radical views on extraterrestrials. He was convinced that extraterrestrials exist, and he even said that after traveling in space he came to believe they were watching Earth.

Mitchell repeatedly shared his views on extraterrestrials in public and made explosive disclosures. What follows is a look at some of the startling things he said in interviews and on television.
On April 19, 1996, in an interview with the National Broadcasting Company (NBC), Mitchell said the government had in fact already made contact with extraterrestrials, but that the truth had been kept hidden—the sensational Roswell incident of 1947, for example. He even said the U.S. government had gained a great deal from extraterrestrial spacecraft.

In 2004, Mitchell told the St. Petersburg Times that a team inside the U.S. government was studying extraterrestrial bodies, and that after Kennedy it had stopped briefing the president. Mitchell said, “We all know UFOs are real. The question is where they come from.”
On July 23, 2008, Mitchell said in an interview that the Roswell incident was real and that extraterrestrials had made contact with humans many times, but that officials had concealed it to this day. Mitchell said, “I happen to have been privileged enough to know the fact that extraterrestrials have visited Earth. The UFO phenomenon is real.” A NASA spokesperson replied at once, “NASA has never tracked UFOs, and it has never been involved in concealing anything about extraterrestrials existing on Earth or anywhere else in the universe. Mitchell is indeed a great American, but we do not share his view on this.”
On July 25, 2008, Fox News reported that Mitchell clarified that his earlier remarks had nothing to do with NASA and that he was citing information provided anonymously by eyewitnesses at the Roswell scene. He also claimed that an anonymous intelligence officer at the Pentagon later confirmed it.
In 2015, what Mitchell told the Huffington Post was even harder to believe: that extraterrestrials had kept the Cold War from turning into a third world war. In a later interview with the Daily Mirror, Mitchell said extraterrestrials were deeply interested in humanity’s atomic-bomb test sites and wanted to understand human military power. He said they were quietly preventing wars among humans and helping us build a peaceful Earth.
Edgar Dean Mitchell (Edgar Dean Mitchell) is highly respected in the scientific community. As the pilot of Apollo 14’s lunar module mission, he took part in the sixth Moon landing on February 9, 1971.
On July 23, 2008, on Britain’s Kerrang radio program, Edgar Mitchell (Edgar Mitchell) announced to the world that those who witnessedthe UFO crash at Roswell, New Mexicowere, for the most part, telling the truth about an extraterrestrial craft, and that the U.S. government had covered it up.
Dr. Mitchell said: “I happen to have been fortunate enough to learn that we have been visited on this planet, and that the UFO phenomenon is real.”
As someone so widely respected, with inside knowledge and access to NASA archives and documents, Edgar Mitchell (Edgar Mitchell) believed it mattered that the truth be released to the world by an important and credible source like himself.
He also said that many local people told him: “An extraterrestrial spacecraft crashing in the Roswell area was a real event. The vast majority—I cannot say all of them—but in fact the bodies were recovered, and the living were recovered. That is the story that they were not of this world.” Of course, it was reported one day in the Roswell Daily Record, but the next day it was quickly denied, and a balloon story was denied as well. That was complete nonsense.
After Mitchell disclosed the information, to put it simply, NASA issued a statement:
“ NASA does not track unidentified flying objects. NASA has not taken part in any form of cover-up concerning extraterrestrial life on this planet or anywhere else in the universe.”
In a recent interview with the Discovery Channel, he made the following statement about what he had been told regarding Roswell:
“I did take the story to the Pentagon, not to NASA, but the Pentagon asked for a meeting with the intelligence committee of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and I told it there. I told them my story and what I knew, and in the end an admiral confirmed it. What I said was indeed true.”

In a later interview with the Daily Mirror, Mitchell said extraterrestrials were deeply interested in humanity’s atomic-bomb test sites and wanted to understand human military power. He said they were quietly preventing wars among humans and helping us build a peaceful Earth.
Edgar Dean Mitchell is an extremely respected man in science and the pilot of the Apollo 14 lunar modular mission being the sixth person to walk on the moon on February 9th, 1971.
On July 23, 2008 on Britain’s Kerrang radio show Edgar Mitchell announced to the world that most of the people that witnessed the UFO Roswell Crash of Roswell New Mexico were telling the truth about an extraterrestrial flying object and were being covered up by the US Government.
“I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we’ve been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomenon is real,” Dr Mitchell said.
Being such a respected individual and having insider knowledge and access to NASA files and documents Edgar Mitchell felt it was important that the truth was released to the world by an important and reliable source like himself.
He also said that many of the locals told him “the crash of an alien spacecraft in the Roswell area was a real event and much of the lore, I can’t say all of the lore, but much of the fact that dead bodies were recovered and live ones were recovered, that they were not of this world, was the story.’ And of course it was reported in the Roswell Daily Record one day and promptly denied the next day and a cover story of a weather balloon, and that was pure nonsense. That was a cover-up.”
NASA released a statement after Mitchell disclosed the information which simply stated:
“NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe.”
In a recent interview with the Discovery Channel, he made the following statement regarding what he had been told about Roswell:
“I did take my story to the Pentagon not NASA, but the Pentagon asked for a meeting with the Intelligence Committee of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and got it. I told them my story and what I know and eventually had that confirmed by the admiral that I spoke with, that indeed what I was saying was true.”
