📖 Abduction: Intimate Contact in Alien Abduction Cases
In 1983, in an ordinary stretch of countryside outside Indianapolis, Kathie Davis was lifted from her room by a mysterious force while she slept, then given a physical examination aboard a UFO. Under hypnosis, Kathie recalled what followed the examination: a profound confrontation, at once warmly human and unimaginably otherworldly.
📖 From the Publisher
“Readers will feel a tender concern for the people Hopkins writes about. The striking consistency of their UFO abduction experiences and of their descriptions of the aliens amounts to an undeniable fact, enough to shake the position of many hardened skeptics.”
—Kirkus Reviews
Tens of thousands of UFO sightings and landing reports have been confirmed. Yet what stirs the greatest controversy, and what is most dramatic, are the stories behind those brief abductions. In the summer of 1983, Kathie Davis was levitated from sleep in rural Indiana and taken inside a UFO for a physical examination. The story she later told the world is corroborated by experts and by hundreds of other victims across the United States. It cannot be ignored, and it should not be dismissed out of hand.
📖 What the Critics Say
Hopkins used hypnosis when interviewing people who claim UFO abductions. In his first book, Missing Time, he proposed that UFO aliens had implanted some kind of device in several children. In this new work, after studying 125 suspected abductions, he reports “an apparent crossbreeding between an alien species and our own.” Under hypnosis, men tell of being raped by alien females, while women describe experiences that Hopkins interprets as egg extraction and artificial insemination. The central case involves Kathie Davis, a 28-year-old mother from Indianapolis. Under hypnosis she recounted repeated abductions and gynecological procedures. The investigation also extends to the UFO experiences of her children, relatives, and friends. In a relaxed, guided way, Hopkins leads the reader step by step into his research, lending credibility to this science-fiction-like narrative. True or not, the author’s speculations stir the same excitement as his previous book. The illustrations were not seen by Publishers Weekly.
