The UFO Enigma: A New Review of the Physical Evidence
📖 The UFO Enigma
One of the greatest mysteries of our time continues to stir intense public interest, yet it has received little rigorous scrutiny from science—until now, with the arrival of The UFO Enigma. For more than fifty years the modern UFO controversy has raged between believers and skeptics, with very little involvement from the scientific community. The only unclassified, government-funded scientific study in the United States was the Colorado Project, which led to the 1967 Condon Report and recommended that further Air Force research into UFOs was pointless. Official investigation in the United States ended abruptly there—while other countries, France in particular, went on with research programs and uncovered striking new evidence.
Now, in a major report commissioned by Laurance S. Rockefeller, world-renowned scientists debate the physical evidence in difficult cases put forward by UFO investigators. The UFO Enigma overturns the conclusions of the Condon Report and argues that, when the evidence is carefully collected and scientifically analyzed, further study of this phenomenon has a great deal to teach us. A panel of international scientists rigorously questioned UFO researchers and reviewed dozens of cases, including:
1984, Paris: Military radar confirmed a commercial airline pilot’s report of an enormous disc more than half a mile in diameter.
1978, Mansfield, Ohio: The four crew members of an Army Reserve helicopter vividly described an encounter with an unidentified cylindrical object, during which their flight controls failed.
1981, southern France: Police and scientific investigators found physical traces in the soil and biochemical changes in the vegetation at a site where an egg-shaped object was said to have landed.
1980, Dayton, Texas: Three witnesses watched a huge object of flame and afterward suffered debilitating radiation-type injuries.
As a report of the conference findings and the supporting case material, The UFO Enigma does not deal with alleged abductions or government cover-ups, nor does it discuss alleged hoaxes or “shared hallucinations.” With its focused scope and the sober assessment of a distinguished scientific panel, its findings may be more challenging—and more unsettling—than any of us dare imagine.
