In December 1980 a series of UFO sightings occurred in Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk. Several U.S. Air Force personnel reported mysterious lights and an apparent landing by an alien craft. Called “Britain’s Roswell,” it is Britain’s best-known UFO case. The Ministry of Defence denied a security threat, but files released later encouraged speculation about a cover-up.
The Rendlesham Forest incident is one of Britain’s best-known UFO cases, often called “Britain’s Roswell.” In December 1980, near a U.S. Air Force base in Suffolk, several service members saw a triangular UFO land in the forest and leave physical traces: landing-gear impressions, scorched trees, and abnormal radiation readings.
